Stay Coastal at Fenway at the Beach

Walking into this beautiful, two-bedroom townhome, guests are greeted by an airy entrance decorated with a gorgeous sign letting them know they’ve made it to vacation! To the right of the entrance, alongside an alcoved washer/dryer combination, is a basic half bathroom, perfectly positioned for any on-arrival emergencies.

Continuing straight into the property leads tenants to a spacious living room with an attached kitchen on the left, and a small porch off the far side behind a sliding glass door. The living room is furnished with a comfortable couch, a small bench, and a larger cushioned chair. Bar seating is also available. The small dining table and seating are positioned by the porch door. The kitchen is fully stocked with the tools necessary for any chef’s cooking needs, including updated stainless-steel appliances. Over the sink, the wall has been opened up to give a full view of the living room as well as the dining table. Whether it's a new parent keeping an eye on their young children, or an intellectual in the middle of a deep conversation, this open area offers many the chance to feel connected while preparing food.

Heading back to the entryway, tenants can climb one flight of stairs to reach the upper level. This floor of the property is where the bedrooms and other bathrooms are located. As tenants reach the top of the staircase they can walk almost straight into the master bedroom. This light blue room is equipped with a queen bed,
a Twin Bunk Bed, and a small flat-screen TV. Please note that this TV is not connected to cable but you are welcome to bring streaming or gaming devices to use. Tenants can also step right outside, through a sliding glass door, onto a small porch. This porch is conveniently placed for soaking up the island air or indulging in some late-night stargazing. The master bedroom has a bathroom attached with a large vanity.

Heading down the hall tenants will find a full bathroom on the right, and the other bedroom down at the end of the hall. The second bedroom is equipped with a queen bed and offers immaculate sound views. Please note there is a TV in this room but it is not connected to cable. You are welcome to bring streaming or gaming devices to use.

You'll also have access to the community's private fishing/crabbing pier, which recently installed a launch for small canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats. Please note these vessels cannot be docked overnight.

Overall, very good rental for the price.

The neighborhood is about 4 houses north of a small Public access, so it was a relatively short walk to the beach. Because it is a smaller public access, it was never really crowded on the beach and we were always able to set up directly in front of the access. It is far enough away from the campground and larger neighborhoods to be peaceful and quiet, but not too far of a drive into Sneads Ferry or Surf City for food/shopping.

Great sunrises and great sunsets (weather permitting!)

Fenway South was a short walk to the public beach access. The kitchen was well equipped and We enjoyed the short walk out to the dock at the end of the day to watch the sun set. There is a great view of the rising sun from the master bedroom, no need to walk to the beach to watch it come up. My only complaint about the place is the bed in the master wasn’t the most comfortable so when the sun woke me, it was time to rise!

Fenway at the Beach is out of the Park

Fenway at the Beach was a great experience for me and my boys! The house is across the road from the beach and a very short walk to the public access area. The house has a parking area under the first floor where we were able to store our beach gear. We were able to take the top off of the Jeep and store it under the house and still had room to park. The first floor has the kitchen and living room for gathering. The second floor has 2 bedrooms that are good sized and has great closet space. My son is stationed at Camp Lejeune and he was able to travel to the house in 20 minutes. We enjoyed our 7 days in the house on North Topsail Island and our time in the area like Sneads Ferry and Surf City! If we get a chance to return, this will be one of the first places to look into!

Good location and layout

Well maintained and reasonably equipped. Having salt and pepper puts it ahead of many rentals. Would be nice to supply basic herbs and spices.

Good Location Away From It All

The house was in a great location away from.the busier areas. Easy walk to the beach. And a great soundside pier. Like many houses in the area it does look like the house maybe had some storm damage at one point. But the owners have done a good job keeping the property up.

Unfortunate Issues

The property had not been cleaned (at all) before we checked in. I had to clean it (I have pictures of how bad it was) the evening we arrived (after a 7.5-hour drive). The satellite was out which we really weren't too unhappy about, but Lewis Realty contacted us to tell us that the repair order was for Wednesday. Turned out it was for Wednesday 4-6. We were at the beach when the call came in (I don't get service at the beach). We arrived back at the house at 5:00. When they hadn't arrived by 6, I called and left a message. They called me the next morning which is when I found out that they expected us to use or vacation time to wait at the house for the repair person to come in. I pointed out that they have access and they tried to use the COVID excuse, but the house was filthy when we arrived so I did not accept that reasoning. Needless to say, the conversation did not go well - again this is Thursday and we would be leaving Saturday morning so the satellite repair benefited the incoming renters. I was treated so poorly by Lewis Realty, that we ended up leaving a day early. Not the vacation I was expecting. I asked for, and we were offered a small refund for the unclean house and no satellite.

Great house with lots of fun special touches. Great location.

We had a fantastic week. The house was roomy for our family of 3 that gave us each a little space as well. We enjoyed dinners at home with a well appointed kitchen. Loved the location - quick walk to the beach and a short car ride to surf city for restaurants.
