The house sits above the village, so you get the quiet of the hillside with the convenience of everything below. The local apple farm is worth a stop for eggs, wild meat, and some of the best homemade cider you'll find anywhere in Norway. The Nigardsbreen glacier is under an hour by car, Fjærland's book village and glacier museum a similar distance, and guided kayak tours on the fjord can be arranged just down the hill.
