When you are searching for a home base for your perfect Tahoe vacation a lot of things should be standard… This property is customized with a relaxing mountain holiday in mind. A recently remodeled beautiful home in a quiet residential neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe has two large decks overlooking Tahoe’s forest service land and is just 2 blocks away from Heavenly’s California Base Lodge.

Relax with the open layout, clean décor, and a kitchen that has a warm comfortable vibe to gather and cook in. Enjoy the impressive artwork produced and displayed by Michael Wischmeyer, adventure traveler and photographer, whose inspiration came from the 87 countries he visited – it reflects on every wall and shelf. After a day on the lake or mountain, delight in the outdoor hot tub and/or fire pit. Also for your convenience are a grill, internet access and home entertainment options for kids and adults. It’s an amazing house but even better is the location.

At this point we are only renting to families and quiet getaways. The current neighbors live there full time and there is no tolerance for loud noises day/night. *** Please note this property is not for any kind of organized events, which includes: weddings, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, parties or any kind of events, this is strictly enforced. There is a $1,000 fine for organized events or notes disturbance made on the property day/night.*** We have outside surveillance devices and for security purposes only in front and backyard and noise monitoring devices to measure sound level only to address potential noise complaints from neighbors.

Take free the shuttle or walk to skiing/snowboarding or take the shuttle to and from the Casinos and shops. Everything is minutes away, .025 miles to Heavenly Ca. Base Lodge, 1.2 miles to Ski Run Marina/Beach, 1.7 Miles to Casinos and shops.

There are 12 resorts in the area, Heavenly Valley Ski Resort with 3,500 Ft of vertical, 30 chair lifts, snowboarding terrain park and over a 100 trails covering over 4,800 acres. Kirkwood is 25 minutes away and has some 2,000 Vertical, 12 chairs, snowboarding terrain park and 65 trails. Sierra at Tahoe is 20 minutes away and has 2,212 ft of Vertical, 13 chair lifts, Terrain Park and 46 trails. Other resorts within 45 minutes are: Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Mount Rose, Diamond Peak, and Homewood.

Other Nearby Attractions include Emerald Bay, Cave Rock, Fallen Leaf Lake, world famous mountain biking trails (one out of the front door), 2 miles from Edgewood golf course. And, of course, Beautiful Lake Tahoe which hosts every water activity possible (just 1.2 miles away).

Wonderful stay

It was a good summer weekend getaway for our family. The place is very conveniently located to all the attractions near heavenly. It is kid friendly. We had good time enjoying the amenities including the hottub. All appliances and the property as a whole was in top condition. Will definitely look for repeat stay here sometime in future

Weekend Getaway

We came up for the weekend and found Michael’s place just great. Quiet and spacious, but not too far from the action. I would recommend bringing bikes if you come in the summer. It is a bit too far to walk to the lake, but just right for bikes.

Tahoe concert getaway

We came to Tahoe with my two sisters and their husbands. Had an amazing time as we don't get together often. We saw Old Dominion at Harvey's and ate at some great restaurants. Visited a local friend in the area and had a wonderful time. All in all it couldn't have gone much better.

Great spot for family and Heavenly access

The house is well-equipped. The three bedrooms are large. The house was super clean, and the directions for TV’s, heater, fireplace, jacuzzi, and neighborhood hour rules were clear. Michael was responsive with the couple of inquiries we had. It was a perfect spot for my two teenagers to find their own space but also for our family to enjoy shared spaces together. Walkable to Heavenly and short ride to the town area, excellent location.We would stay again.

Family stay at Needle Peak House

Lovely home with plenty of room for 8. Kitchen is perfect for folks that like to cook. Owner has his personal travel photographs on the walls and they are magnificent. Convenient location close to Heavenly, the shopping areas and the lake. Parking in drive way adequate for at least 3 cars. Would NOT recommend this house for anyone with disabilities as there are stairs to main floor and outside yard, spa and deck. Great family house with plenty of "space" for everyone.

First time Experience

This was my first time renting through a website like this. Renting the house was a smooth and easy process. The owner responded timely, although never gave me a straight answer when I asked if I could “check in” early. The house was warm and beautiful, beds comfortable, clean, extra linens and towels, great yard (loved the fire pit!) and pretty much everything we needed was available. The kitchen was wonderful and the center of activity—although the knives need to be sharpened and the range hood light needs to be replaced (they went out in the middle of cooking). The location was near perfect to Heavenly, to town and Stateline. A few things I do want to mention is that when I needed to call to get an updated door code, he mentioned that someone had been there earlier “to fix a few things.” Well I found the list of things that needed to be done on the kitchen counter—“hot tub water low,” “blinds broken,” etc. Turns out, most of the items on the list still needed to be done. Hot tub water was still low which caused the jets to not work properly. The blinds (dining room slider) being broken scared me a little, because I didn’t want to get blamed for them and not get my deposit back. Fireplace vent/grate had fallen off, but that was an easy fix I did myself. When checking out, I felt the cleaning fee of $xxx.xx was a bit steep figuring all that was left to do was sheets and towels—and take the garbage out Mondays. Other than that, I would probably stay there again now that I know what to expect. I had a great time over the weekend. Thank you.

Great house, but we had some issues. Would still recommend

Overall the house was great. We did have some issues that I am fairly sure the owner has resolved. The three main issues: 1. Hot tub leaked so profusely that it was impossible to use. If we filled it up, the majority of the water would leak out the bottom before it could heat up, rendering it completely unusable. This was a major bummer as the hot tub was a huge selling point and we wouldn't have picked it had we known this. That said, we were told by the owner that a new hot tub was arriving the day after we left. Didn't do us any good, but I imagine others will not have this issue. 2. hot water in the house was out the morning we left, so cold showers for all. No idea what the issue was with that. 3. refrigerator kept food cool, not cold. A little annoying, but not a huge deal. Those three issues aside, the house was very nice, accommodated our crew nicely, the owner was super nice and very helpful and accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked While I can only give this a three star review due to the issues mentioned above, I'm sure others will not have these problems. It would have either been a four or five star review without these issues. The house is great, location is perfect, backyard is awesome, owner was great. My only other comment is it can get pretty warm inside the house. We happened to be in Tahoe when the temps were pushing 90 degrees, a bit unusual for Tahoe. No AC meant very warm inside the house in the late afternoon. Luckily plenty of outdoor seating to move outside where it was cooler. I have no reason to say we wouldn't rent again, I think we just had some very bad timing with some random issues. Also, my son left his wallet and the owner was kind enough to quickly mail it to us.

Perfect for a Weekend Ski Trip to Heavenly

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! This is the perfect rental for a weekend ski trip to Heavenly. The location is unbeatable, it’s truly walking distance to the slopes. We loaded up one car to bring gear up to the resort and the rest of the crew walked less than a mile. The amenities are excellent, a hot tub for apres ski and wide open floor plan that was awesome for family dinner. The living room is large enough for everyone to sit for a game or movie night. The beds had hotel quality comfort and everything was clean. The place really had everything you needed to have a good time. On top of all this, Michael was a great host, very responsive and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the house . The house was very clean and all the amenities worked perfectly. We enjoyed our time in the jacuzzi with the snow around. It was amazing and perfect family vacation. The manager responded to my request quickly and solved a problem that I faced within less than 10 minutes. I recommend the place and next time I’ll come back to the same place if it would be available.

Great Location, Beautiful home.

Our stay was good. We got lucky and it snowed every day. Unfortunately a lot of stuff is still closed around the area but it was nice to get away. The home was well kept. Beautiful portraits taken by the owner were hung throughout the home. Amazing kitchen and the balcony views were nice. Bathrooms were a good size. Beds were a little too hard for my liking but okay with others. Huge garage, perfect for trucks. And I liked that they shoved the snow from the driveway in the morning. Manager was easy to contact with quick responses. Only downfall was we were charged for a burn in a pillow case that was not our fault. It was burned due to a faulty dryer and should have been looked into before blaming and charging your guests. We were refunded after contacting the owner in regards to the problem. Besides that, we enjoyed the home a lot and highly recommend to future guests. You will enjoy your stay.

Beautiful House, Location, Experience

This was the perfect house for our family of four during our 5 day winter visit to Lake Tahoe. The location was absolutely perfect! Close to Heavenly, restaurants and activities. The house is very well maintained, newly furnished / remodeled and clean. Michael was very attentive and check-in was a non-issue whatsoever. The kids played in the snow right outside the door, no need to take them anywhere to get their snow "fix". Location (as stated above) was super convenient, we could have literally walked to the base of Heavenly. We will definitely keep this property on our favorite list and look into it again on our next visit.

Heavenly Perfection

We loved this home! It was perfect for 2 families. Excellent kitchen appliances which was great since we cooked most meals from home due to covid. The jacuzzi was the perfect thing for us to do after a long day of skiing. Our kids loved playing in the snow in the backyard. It was a quick drive to the California Lodge and if you didn’t have kids you could probably walk there. We couldn’t ask for more!

Great property, great location, well stocked

We spent Thanksgiving at the property with another family and had a wonderful time. The location is great, practically walking distance to Heavenly lift and a short drive down to the lake. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, spacious rooms and great common area to hang out. The kitchen was so well stocked with all kinds of utensils - we were easily able to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal for two families. Great place!

We had a wonderful time! The house was just as described and the location was awesome. Close and convenient to everything. You won’t be disappointed.

Tahoe at the end of summer.

Had a great time staying at this property. Close to everything in South Shore yet quiet and secluded. Would certainly recommend this house as a great place to stay. Owner easy to communicate with and the home was in pristine condition when we arrived.
