Tropical garden villa 3 bedroom all en-suite, 7 minutes walk to fabulous beach
Pretty, bright spacious garden villa surrounded by palm and mango trees. The Heywood's Estate is in a quiet neighbourhood and the villa is situated in a small cul de sac, just over 5 minutes walk to the beautiful west coast Heywood's beach. The villa is gated with side gate for private parking. The Master bedroom has a large bright balcony with table & chairs, great for breakfast or evening rum punches. Downstairs is open plan with French doors leading to a terrace at the front of the villa. Fully equipped kitchen with washing area leading to the dining area. The kitchen leads to a pretty garden room, completely private with dining table and chairs and is ideal for shade and slight breeze. There is an outside shower just to the side of the garden room, ideal for rinsing off sand from the beach. The villa boasts a pretty private garden with mango, avocado and palm trees.
Booking was easy and Maria was delightful to work with. We appreciate Helen, the property manager, for her patience as our flight was delayed. She waited for us to check in and she addressed our questions and concerns in a timely manner. The property is beautiful and easily accessible to the stores and beach.
Beautiful, well-equipped villa in an excellent location. Three generous, modern bedrooms and great outdoor dining options. Kitchen is well equipped and local grocery and fruit/veggie sellers offered all that we needed. Heywoods beach is a quick walk and was a favourite. Local buses were fun, frequent and got us to other beaches and nature reserve. Dining in the Speightstown area was excellent. .
To start with it was an overall good stay for this family of six. The neighborhood itself was quiet. The residence was full of greenery which was pleasant to breathe in and observe. It even had mango trees.
The bedrooms were comfortable and had wall mounted A/C units. The bathrooms were somewhat updated. The quaint kitchen had all the necessities including a gas stove/oven unit that may take some of us spoiled Americans time to get used to.
Heywood beach is about a 7 min. walk from the residence. Also, this beach is near The Caboose eatery, a must go to especially on the weekend. The owners provided a useful guide at the residence to use for booking tours or finding places to eat.
We only had one issue with the stove that was quickly handled by the handyman Basil.
Finally, we parked exclusively in the front of the residence, leaving enough room for traffic that might turn the corner. I would have liked to use the parking in the rear. However, the driveway has an incline that is unlevel at the zenith. Imagine walking up an incline that starts to tilt right as you approach the top. It prevents a caravan (that sits low) from parking there. The safest bet is to rent a jeep. If you get a sedan or SUV, just be careful.
The property was even better then the photos. Would recommend this property to anyone who was thinking of renting it. Helen, the property manager was so helpful and even stayed at the property until we arrived.
This was our first time to Barbados and we were very impressed with not only the island but our accommodations. Maria's house is beautiful with all the amenities you need. The location is ideal with a short walk to Heywoods Beach and Speightstown where they have everything you need. We would definitely return!
Our best vacation ever, this property is in a magnificent location (close to the beach, S'town, and public transportation). Helen, our property manager, was awesome and accessible. The villa was very spacious and located in a peaceful neighborhood. Without any doubts, staying there will be our first option going forward. Many thanks to Maria and Helen--you were simply...Outstanding!
Cozy home with garden views from every window. Beautiful sunsets from the upstairs balcony. Easy, fun walks into town and local beaches. Lots of dinning and evening fun options. Local bus terminal can get you anywhere on the island.
From the moment we arrived at Stradbally for our two week stay, we felt at home. We were warmly welcomed by Helen who showed us around the light airy house and a generous welcome pack had been left in the fridge which was very handy. We loved the outside space and were fascinated to see monkeys and exotic birds, including hummingbirds, in the lush garden. We cooked around half our meals easily in the kitchen and ate them outside on the covered terrace. The bedrooms are modern and comfortable, all with their own en-suite, fans and AC as well as plenty of hanging space. The Master bedroom has a balcony perfect for that early morning cuppa or afternoon rum punch. The house really is a short walk from the beach and an easy stroll into Speightstown with its selection of beachfront bars, restaurants and cafes. We felt safe walking back in the evening too. All in all Stradbally suited us perfectly and we look forward to returning there in the near future.
Excellent location being a short walk to beach and into town. Quiet neighbourhood
House stands in an attractive garden . There is a lovely balcony which overlooks the garden and is an ideal place to sit and have evening drinks. The house is spacious although the decor is tired especially the kitchen and the ensuite with the bath in it. The kitchen is well equipped but needs a jolly good clean and clear out.
We had a couple of issues with one of the showers not draining well and there was a leak of water through the downstairs ceiling due to a blocked air conditioner . Both issues were sorted out by Helen very quickly and efficiently .
When we arrived there was no one there to meet us and we had to wait 20 minutes for Helen to arrive and let us in . It was unwelcoming especially after travelling for more than 12 hours. We were tired and thirsty and needed the bathroom.
Heywoods beach is 10 minutes walk away . It has plenty of shade and safe bathing. It is popular with families with young children. Some days we had the beach to ourselves.
There is loads of storage space and plenty of towels and hot water.
It is a lovely villa in a quite neighbourhood, the communication with the owner are so prompt . The beach is literally at 5 min walk and was the least crowded of all beaches we visited. A very comfy house surrounded by plenty of trees and privacy. Had a great time here.
The property is secluded and in a perfect location. The trees surrounding the property provide a cool breeze with no need for AC on the 1st level. I am looking forward to staying there in 2022.
We had WhatsApp contact with Helen, the villa manager, before arrival and got all of our questions answered. The villa is fantastic with big living room and kitchen with all items you (we) needed. Upstairs are 2 bed rooms with single beds and Master bedroom with king size bed. All bed rooms have A/C and Fan. There were 3 portable Fan's also. Then there was a really big patio with dining table for 6. Many thanks to Maria and Toni to share their home. And many thanks to Helen to manage the villa. We will come back again one day. Kind Regards from Germany Sibylle & Robert
My family and I had to visit Barbados for my grandmotherâs funeral. They were four adults and one child (age 8) in our party. There was enough space for all of us to not be on top of each other. We loved spending time on the back patio. Maria was great at communicating with me. Helen the property manager was there to meet us when we arrived. This was our second time staying at the villa and we canât wait to stay again.
The villa is very comfortable and well equipped, everything you need when self catering and a real bonus that all three bedrooms having ensuite facilities. The location of the villa is perfect to walk into Speighstown and enjoy the variety of beachside cafes, bars and restaurants and a short stroll to stunning beaches. Holetown is an easy 10 minutes taxi drive away with good shopping and an abundance of beachside bars and restaurants although during curfew periods not as many were open as usual.
We would highly recommend Stradbally and during this Covid pandemic this would be an ideal villa to rent for a longer period for people working from home!
Great holiday in this beautiful villa. The villa is ideally situated close to the beach and the town of Speightstown with its shops, bars and restaurants. It is extremely well furnished with everything we needed. The garden and terrace are lovely with the trees providing shade. We hope to return soon and would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.
STRADBALLY is a Lovely villa situated in a quiet residential area close to Speightstown and a very efficient bus service to other West Coast towns and beyond.
The villa had everything my family needed for a great stay in beautiful Barbados. 3 super bedrooms all ensuite. The master bedroom was particularly good as it has a lovely balcony looking out towards the sea.
The local Heywoods beach (10 mins walk) was always quiet and was one of our favourite spots.
Speightstown is like stepping back in time on Barbados with lovely painted older looking buildings with restaurants and bars within easy access.
Bajans everywhere on the Island were always so friendly and genuinely kind and helpful.
A big Thank you also to Maria for her supersonic responses to my many emails prior to our holiday and to Helen and Wendy for their assistance too.
We particularly liked snorkeling out from Six Mens (5 mins in a car) where you can swim with the beautiful turtles and marine life.
AndâŠ..
Donât forget to try the great local rums and the many fish dishes to tantalise your taste buds.
Thank you for sharing Stradbally with us.

The Edgellâs stay at Stradbally Barbados
Arrived at Stradbally Barbados to see a beautiful villa with mature gardens of mango and coconut trees. The villa is beautiful inside too, it is spacious and practical with everything you need. It has three big bedrooms two twins and one with a super king looking out to sea with a balcony that you can sit and watch the sun go down on. Each bedroom is en-suite.
Walk 10 mins down the road and you will get to Heywoods beach ( our favorite) which is quiet with just a few lovely, friendly locals taking their morning swim together, it also had the best snorkeling.
The villa is situated in a quiet residential area.
Weâve had the best time and will definitely be back.
Thank you
An excellent place to stay and the owner could not have been more helpful. But the HomeAway website is a real trial to use. Why so clunky? Why refuse part of my payment and then - within the hour - urgently demand the balance? Why welcome me to the house when I was not even there, and then hope that I had had a good holiday when the holiday was hardly started? Why make communication with the owner so difficult when her good sense was all that made HomeAway madness bearable?
