Large lawned garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture and firepit. Balcony. 2½-acre natural woodland grounds (shared with owner). Bike store. Electric car charging point. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a borehole. There is a pond and a river in the grounds, 25 yards away.. Willow Barn is a beautifully presented detached holiday cottage set in a peaceful rural position in the Cornish countryside. Finished to a high standard throughout, it offers a comfortable and stylish place to stay while remaining well located for exploring the coast. Designed in an ‘upside-down’ layout, the living accommodation is on the first floor to make the most of the views across the surrounding countryside.

The bright, open-plan living area features original beams and a modern, well-equipped layout ideal for relaxing after a day out. Bi-folding doors open onto a large balcony, providing a lovely space to sit with a drink and enjoy the quiet setting. The accommodation is thoughtfully finished and well maintained, making it an inviting retreat at any time of year. The owner lives adjacent and is available should guests need local advice or assistance during their stay.

Despite its quiet location, Willow Barn is well placed for discovering this diverse part of Cornwall. The area is known for its sandy beaches and sheltered coves backed by dramatic cliffs, ideal for family days out. The nearest beach is just 4 miles away, with many others within easy reach.

The historic fishing village of Mevagissey lies around 3½ miles away and is well worth a visit, with its narrow streets leading down to a busy working harbour. Here you’ll find a good choice of pubs, cafés, and independent shops. Nearby attractions include the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a restored historic garden with woodland and jungle areas, and the Eden Project, both popular with visitors of all ages.

There are also sub-tropical gardens, scenic coastal walks, and traditional fishing villages to explore. Fowey, a seafaring town and former home of Daphne du Maurier, is close by and known for its restaurants and cafés. A seasonal ferry runs between Fowey and Mevagissey, offering a great way to see St Austell Bay from the water.

Outdoor activities in the area include surfing, sailing, swimming, walking, horse riding, cycling, and golf, with several courses nearby. Shops are 1¾ miles away, with a pub and restaurant just ¾ mile from the cottage.

My mum stayed in the cottage over the Christmas holidays. It’s fully equipped and was beautifully decorated over her stay. Everything about it was top class and we would definitely use it again. Irene was very welcoming and was there when we arrived thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Michele

Four of us - two couples - spent a very pleasant if partly rainy November week in Willow Barn, which is nicely situated, warm, and in most respects very well-equipped and comfortable. A lot of the equipment was in fact new or very nearly new when we visited. Our hosts Tom and Irene were pleasant and helpful, but also unobtrusive. Very minor downsides were:- + several light bulbs had expired in the kitchen area; + the shower attachment over the bath was in poor condition and not practically usable as a shower if wanted (but the separate shower room worked excellently); + the dining table and chairs are very cramped between the log-burner and the side of the sitting room - manageable and probably unavoidable, but a bit awkward. The plus side far outweighs these minor negatives and we would quite likely visit again.

An amazing cottage with fantastic hosts. Greeted with hamper of supplies including a bottle of fizz! Both the interior and outside space were perfect with a real attention to detail evident throughout.
