If you like a touch of elegance while you’re on holiday, look no further, you’ll love this place! On foot you can reach the pubs, the village shop, railway station and it is just a 15-minute walk to a fantastic beach. Hurst House has a great location on Main Street in St Bees and is within walking distance of several pubs and places to eat. Recently converted from a sandstone industrial building and new to the market for Summer 2022, this property offers an excellent base to explore the West-Cumbrian Coast and The Lake District National Park.
This property is ideal for couples and families, the attention to detail is evident from the moment you arrive. With high quality furniture, excellent interior design throughout and some great touches like the coffee machine, wine cooler and digital TV, you’ll soon feel at home. It also has a balcony with table and chairs, so you can enjoy a chilled glass of wine while taking in the views and a small patio with views towards the sea over neighbouring gardens, but does not have a garden. This ‘upside-down’ property has the two bedrooms on the ground floor. A good-sized double with en-suite bathroom and a twin. There is a separate shower room off the hallway too and a spacious utility room with washing machine, dryer and plenty of space to store bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks. The first floor is all open plan with a high spec kitchen and breakfast bar, hardwood flooring, large dining table and Scandinavian chairs. There’s a huge TV and plenty of comfortable easy seating. Overall, you’ll be impressed, a lot of thought has gone into delivering an excellent guest experience.
St Bees is a desirable village located near the West Cumbrian Coast and The Lake District National Park. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, St Bees provides an idyllic base for your next holiday. The charming cottage comes equipped with everything you’ll need. This is also the start of Alfred Wainwright’s famous coast-to-coast walk.
With a short drive from St Bees, you can easily reach several Fells and Lakes. Within 0.8 miles of the cottage there is a beautiful sandy beach that is great for exercising your pets and taking a breath of fresh air. There are pubs and restaurants in St Bees centre, and you can leave the car behind and take the train to many nearby towns. In less than 200 yards, you will find St Bees station, several pubs, a restaurant and a convenience store. In just a few minutes, you can walk to the historic St Bees priory which dates to the 11th century. In addition to walking, biking, and climbing in some of the most beautiful scenery in England, you are just 10 miles from The Lake District National Park. Your nearest lake is Ennerdale, one of the most unspoiled parts of The Lake District where you may spot buzzards, red squirrels, or ospreys.
To reach Scafell Pike’s summit, you can reach Wasdale Head in just 18 miles, which is the shortest route. Consider taking the miniature steam railway along the Southwest Coast, the La’al Ratty. There is also a challenging 9-hole links course at St Bees. Pub within 1 mile.
