Welcome to THE PALM SUITE at The Flamingo House. A cute & cozy apartment with sunset views over town + a garden dining deck under the stars, all in UPHILL walking distance from the ferry. A small kitchenette offers all you need for your island stay. A 3-minute walk down to hiking trails, beaches, National Park, & Cruz Bay's restaurants & shopping. Snorkel gear for two, beach chairs, beach towels, + a cooler provided. Ideal for two guests, we do allow three with a rollaway twin bed provided.
Welcome to our enchanting apartment located in the heart of the town. Immerse yourself in the idyllic island lifestyle as you soak up breathtaking sunset views on the new hardwood deck.
As you step into this cozy abode, you will be greeted by the warmth of the sun streaming through the wall of windows. Slip into a state of blissful slumber on our queen-sized bed, adorned with the signature comforts of Anthropologie bedding. Awake each morning, refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to embark on your island adventure.
Should you wish to indulge your culinary whims, our small kitchenette stands ready.
A mere three-minute stroll will lead you to hiking trails that wind through nature's embrace, beaches where crystal-clear waters beckon you to dive in, and the breathtaking USVI National Park, a treasure trove of natural wonders. Should you desire a taste of local flavors or indulge in retail therapy, Cruz Bay Town's vibrant restaurants and shops are just a stone's throw away. To enhance your island experience, we provide snorkel gear for two, as well as beach chairs, towels, and coolers.
At our quaint retreat, every moment is an opportunity to create everlasting memories. Let the sun-kissed serenity of our apartment, the allure of sunset views from our garden dining deck, and the proximity to captivating natural wonders ignite a sense of deep relaxation and pure joy. We are about a 3-minute walk down to Cruz Bay beach, where the ferry boats come in. There is a swim zone off the beach where boats are not allowed. That area is also home to Joe's Rum Hut, Beach Bar, Lovango Rum Bar, High Tide Grill, Kati Ligo Wine Bar, and LowKey Watersports. Just about a quarter-mile away is the hiking trail that gets you out to Solomon Beach and Honeymoon Beach. Most of the beaches are on the North shore, which is accessible by car or taxi and about 10 minutes away. Another few minutes walk is the shopping center of Mongoose Junction, home to the Tap Room Microbrewery, 18/64 sushi lunch, Sun Dog cafe, Greengos Mexican Cantina, Lulee Boutique, and lots of other shopping and dining. Our favorite restaurants in the area are La Tapa, The Lime Inn, Extra Virgin Bistro, and Morgans Mango.
We are happy to give our recommendations on dinners out, the best snorkel spots, boat excursions, etc. Feel free to ask!

Great 10 yr anniversary getaway!

We loved that this was walking distance to downtown Cruz Bay. The hill back up was really steep, so you have to be in physically good shape, but otherwise it wasn’t so bad. Beautiful view from the Palm Suite of Cruz Bay! We were grateful to have parking in back of the property for our jeep rental. Felt very safe and the suite was well cleaned before our arrival. Perfect for a couple! The hosts communicated well before, during, and just before check-out.

st John Studio

Artfully decorated, roomy studio with above average essentials included. The is for the incredible view of the Cruz Bay harbor. Can’t call the outdoor space a mere balcony; it’s a full deck with loveseat, chair, and a corner facing the spectacular bay. The hilltop location is a steep climb (as described), but short enough to conquer without luggage. A quick walk down brings you everything in town and plentiful taxis. Loved it!

Second stay here and it was just perfect!

This is our second stay at Flamingo House and it was just as lovely as the first time. There have been some nice improvements from our last stay, it is evident that the owners take great care of the property. The million dollar view remains the same!

Beautifully decorated!

We stayed in the Palm Suite in early June 2024. The whole place is super cute! We loved the decorative style in the Palm, it was just perfect for us! The Flamingo house is lovely with lots of outdoor deck space upstairs. Beautiful view and fun to watch Cruz Bay below. It was clean, communication with the owner was great, there was a driveway to park in, and overall very comfortable and we would stay here again. A few things to consider - the power did go on and off while we were there, but that is no fault of the owner. The whole island was experiencing power issues. It might be a good idea to ask owners about back-up generators if you are dependent on having electrical power while on St. John. Also, the Flamingo House is on top of one heck of a hill. It was not walkable with luggage in my opinion. You would definitely want a rental car or be willing to pay for taxis. Luggage would need to be picked up and carried up a flight of stairs. Lastly, we were there during the 70th anniversary of St. John and the steel drum concert going on in Cruz Bay could be heard very well from the Flamingo house! General noise from Cruz Bay could be heard other nights as well. Not the most quiet place, if that is what you are looking for. Again, overall, positive experience and would stay here again!

Million dollar view

Loved our stay at the Palm unit. Thoughtfully decorated and equipped. The owners were responsive and helpful. Recently renovated , nice bathroom and kitchenette. The unit is flooded with light and beautiful breezes The best part was the view from the terrace, which is shared but we seemed to have it all to ourselves most of the time. The hill is steep but I’m in my late 60s and have a knee issue. I made the hike up 5/6 times, you can also walk back the long way for a lesser incline or as the owner suggests-take a taxi back from town. This is probably my 18th stay on St John and I hope to return and stay here again.

Gorgeous views, very clean and comfortable!

We had a wonderful week at The Flamingo House! We had the Palm room, which is on the corner and afforded us the most amazing views. The unit was very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It's an easy walk DOWN the hill, but it is a challenging hill to walk UP so you will want to keep that in mind. you can go the back way along the water and it's just a few minutes more with less steep hills. The property was very quiet with one caveat, you ARE close to town and there is a new club (we stayed in Feb 2024) which is very loud on Friday and Saturday nights until 2AM. This is not a reflection of the property, obviously the owners have no control over this, just an FYI to bring your earplugs if that would bother you.

Awesome Stay!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo House. The unit was well equipped and decorated and had an amazing view. We liked being able to walk to the restaurants in Cruz Bay and in Mongoose Junction. Definitely recommend!

Great location, clean property, beautiful view

Overall, the property was excellent. It suited our needs, it was clean, and the location was great. You could walk to many bars and restaurants, although the hill back up to the house is very steep. We were fortunate in that we were able to park in the parking lot at the property, but had that not been available, finding parking would have been a challenge. It was very difficult to find at first The Google map links were not working correctly, and we needed to communicate with the owner in order to locate it. It would have been helpful if the owners provided written instructions on how to get to the property from the car ferry dock in the welcome packet (which was otherwise very detailed). Additionally, upon arrival, one of the beach chairs was broken and could not be used, leaving only one chair to use. One of the snorkeling masks was also broken. It would have been great if there were working beach chairs and snorkeling gear. It also would have been nice to have some beach towels to use (none were provided), as well as some additional bath towels, as only 2 were provided. But, overall, the property was great, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to St. John.

A great host and well supplied place

Amanda was wonderful in getting us settled in. The view was amazing and simply enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset. As I said, it was well stocked even with a few welcoming beers in the refrigerator! Their detail to the surrounding area and things to do was very helpful. Our thanks for a wonderful stay!

Gem of a place! Amazing views!

Amanda and Alan are amazing hosts with excellent response time! The unit was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Views from the deck are outstanding! Short walk to town. Tip for guests, download maps/check in prior to arrival as service can be iffy. The place was a little hard to find when we arrived but it’s funny cause we could see it from just about anywhere when we were out and about, so if you familiarize yourself you’ll find it no problem. We would certainly stay here again.

This studio unit had everything we needed for a great stay. The bed was comfortable. The covered balcony was large and had amazing views. Being able to walk to town was very convenient since parking was almost impossible. I would definitely stay here again.

The views from the front and side balcony were amazing as was the iguana that hung out in a tree by the balcony every morning. Totally walkable to town. The walk back up the hill was a workout but doable. Apartment was very clean and host was great. Would stay there again.

This was our first time to stay within walking distance of Cruz Bay. We are early 50's but quite active and the walk uphill was challenging (we opted for the shorter route); however, if you take the beach view its not as challenging and a gradual slope. The property was very clean and included everything we needed for our stay, We will definitely be back!!!!!!

Great place with a beautiful view!

This place was beautiful! The view from the balcony was incredible. Also very close to town. We could walk to bars and restaurants within about 5 minutes as well as get taxis/hike to beach. The apartment is up an incredibly steep hill so be prepared. But it was absolutely worth it for the views from up top. We loved our stay here and hope to be back!

Great Location - Close to Cruz Bay

We enjoyed our long weekend stay at Estate Enighed ! It was a perfect location within walking distance to town
much easier downhill than uphill :-) but we did walk it a couple of times. The unit was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay including a cooler, beach chairs and towels for our beach days. This was a fantastic place to stay! The location was close to the main hub of town and we rather enjoyed the hill (it’s definitely steep, but it was good exercise and not unmanageable a few times a day). Everything was in the property as expected, and it was very clean. Would stay here again!

Great Place with a Great View

The apartment is bright and well-decorated with a huge balcony overlooking Cruz Bay. The view is spectacular! There is also a nice yard with a pergola, BBQ, and patio furniture for guests to enjoy. We took full advantage of the cooler and beach chairs offered with the unit which saved us renting them at the various beaches. The building is close to the main town - ferry, groceries, restaurants/bars and can be walked to in less than 5 minutes. Would recommend ear plugs for light sleepers since there's at least one local rooster that likes to start crowing about 2am and many others around 5am. I would highly recommend this unit for close friends or couples.

Extremely clean, bright interior, wonderful convenient location in walking distance to Ferry/taxis/National Pk Visitor Center/trails to beaches/ Cruz Bay shops and grocery and restaurants, with outstanding view and nice garden area for outdoor dining , basic kitchen amenities for simple meals ( BYO coffee! ) , and snorkel equipment/beach chairs for 2 . Nice stay for a couple or solo traveler

A beautiful place to rest your head, the views alone are worth this room. Waking up and rolling over to look over Cruz Bay is the perfect way to wake up. This is a no-frills solid stay. Has all the basic amenities and very friendly host. Amanda made check in easy by personally picking me up and driving up the hill to drop my things. Thank you, Amanda!! Will be back!
