Our terrific one bedroom newly renovated in 2023 condo at Grande Bay is beautifully furnished and decorated with many personal touches and fully equipped with everything you would need for a wonderful stay and with amazing Caribbean views. We also have a next door studio condo (VRBO #288205) for your consideration and together we have named them "Sugar n' Spice"; the one bedroom is "Sugar" and the studio is "Spice." Also check out the reviews for the VRBO #288205 listing and you'll get a very good sense of the kind of experience you can expect to have staying with us. Rent either or both units and come explore St John as our guests; we've been coming to St John for almost 40 years and know the island very well and are happy to share our knowledge as you plan your trip.

The one bedroom features a king four poster bed in the master bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. We have a double sinked master bath. There is a large balcony from which to enjoy the awesome views and a full size washer/dryer as well as an available parking spot if you do choose to rent a jeep. And, of course, we have a fully equipped stainless steel and granite kitchen and a Weber electric grill on the balcony. We have beach chairs, towels and coolers for your use and we have good internet and a hi-def TV with Apple TV and Netflix.

We are located in the rear building C (Stairwell 6) on the second floor near the pool, which we believe is the premier location within Grande Bay as it affords us really expansive views and provides more privacy and quiet than the units in the lower buildings on the street and closer to town. Grande Bay offers a beautiful pool, hot tub and pool deck with wonderful Caribbean views. We also have a fitness center with treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes and weights all with spectacular views looking out at the Caribbean. And all the restaurants, shops, bars, etc of Cruz Bay are a 1-10 minute walk away.

So come and relax and explore the magnificent island of St John! There's nothing better than morning coffee or an evening glass of wine sitting on the balcony and just staring at the gorgeous view.

We also have an adjoining studio condo, also with a king bed and queen sleeper sofa. The studio can be rented separately or combined with the one bedroom to form a large two bedroom unit. You can find the studio at VRBO listing 288205 and if you check out our reviews there, they apply equally to both units. We'd love to have you as our guests in one or both of our condo units!

Location is wonderful- close to all the action but far enough away to be quiet. Had a rough travel day and arrived to a parking problem, but Shari in office quickly resolved it. A wonderful condo in Cruz Bay

Perfect Cruz Bay location. The condo is a short walk from the ferry and close to all the Cruz Bay restaurants and nightlife. We rented a car 1 day to explore the island, otherwise we walked to the cab stand and took open air taxis to all the North Shore beaches. The condo was clean, spacious, with a balcony and full kitchen. It was exactly as advertised.

Perfect getaway

This condo was very clean and had everything you would need for your stay! Location could not have been better. Easy short walks to restaurants and bars. Great parking garage and very easy to communicate with staff. Although you won't need to because there are not any problems! Our honeymoon was amazing because of this place. Highly recommend.

We loved this place! The photos didn't quite do justice to how comfortably large it was for the three of us. Large front patio, with a lovely view of the Cruz Bay harbor, large living room with comfortable sofa bed, fully-appointed kitchen (full oven, cooktop, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, pots/pans/knife set/dishwasher, fridge/freezer with ice maker and freezer packs), separate bedroom with luxury bathroom en suite, plus washer/dryer and private rear patio with clothes line). Each morning we enjoyed our coffee on the front patio, watching pelicans diving in the harbor. Easy walk from ferry dock, and also easy walk to town's main taxi stand. (Taxis are mostly small vans, taking passengers to a sequence of destinations. Cash only!)Many restaurants within short walk--many casual, some fancy. We tried some, and cooked some meals on our own.We would *gladly* stay here again, if/when we return to St. John.

Sad to Report A Bad Experience/ Disappointing Unit

I have never done a review, but thought it important to point out a few things because we unfortunately, had a bad experience. The positives: This property/unit is in a great location with a very pretty view. Bed comfortable. The negatives: Space tight. Minimal basics supplied. Something strong was burning my eyes and causing allergic breathing reaction. I just wanted to get out of there whole time. And feared our belongings were all getting exposed. Property manager was snooty/snarky about it, as well as unhelpful until Night 2 of 2 to provide needed unsupplied pillow case for pillow.Bare minimum linens, bed and other supplies given. Extras padlocked in bedroom closet. (Saw nice cleaning lady removing from earlier.) Property mgr mentioned on the phone that “they no longer use Fabulosa on the floors because the owner doesn’t like it”, inferring it was me. Noticed burning worse in the bedroom and tiny bathroom with unopenable window. When I opened a tiny slotted doored closet in the tiny bathroom, I discovered the problem. Old mop and cleaning supply buckets, with products, my guess is they still contained the “Fabulosa”. Since the door is slotted, it comes into the air of the bathroom and bedroom. When I later googled Fabulosa, I saw multiple alarming recalls, due to contamination of harmful strains of bacteria, which affect breathing, etc. I suggest the owner please remove closet supplies, start anew and remediate the unit. Sorry to be negative. Sad this ruined our stay.

Pleasant Stay

My third visit to St. John, and definitely enjoyed this condo. First two visits I stayed in a studio suite, and this time was very nice to stay in the unit with the full kitchen and separate bedroom. Perfect location with an easy walk to and from ferry if need be. The included parking spot was excellent as we rented a car. Would definitely return.

Back up generator! Yes!!!!

This was such a nice villa. I will rent it again. Clean, comfortable and well stocked. The host and owner were excellent to work with. WAPA has had a lot of issues this summer and we were out of power for a total of 30 seconds, yes seconds, over 10 days. Everything worked as it should. The dedicated parking spot is a must. It was tight but very doable. There are ice macnhines in the garages for your convenience. Nice towels, chairs and a cooler were provided.

Excellent Stay at Sugar 'n' Spice

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was recently renovated and was very well equipped. The owner was very responsive and was very pleasant ro deal with. Grande Bay is the perfect place to stay on St John. The restaurants are all within walking distance and there is a lovely view of the water.

Paradise!

We absolutely loved St John! The Sugar 'N Spice (1br) was perfect for us...beautiful views and is such a comfortable place. Having a full kitchen was a plus for cooking our own breakfasts. Everything we needed for our multiple beach outings was readily available in the unit. Grande Bay is within walking distance of so many great restaurants, fun bars, and lots of shopping options! Definitely recommend it - we will be back!!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights to attend a wedding in St.John. The condo was great! Close to everything we needed. Shopping, restaurants, beach, bar, taxi stand. We had a wonderful time.

Great Visit

We enjoyed our visit. This property was perfect for us. The view, convenience to Cruz bay and comfortable furniture were excellent. We would definitely stay here again. The management company was responsive and helpful.
