The unit was nice, not the cleanest, but it was ok. Check in and out was easy and management was prompt to any questions I had. The first thing I noticed when entering the unit was a very strong smell of marijuana. The smell was present throughout the whole stay. Having my three-year-old in that was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, there was a joint on the front patio which I took a picture of. The last night of my stay my three-year-old had a three-minute temper tantrum and I immediately got a text message stating "I have exceeded the noise limit." This occurred at 8:30 PM and quiet hours start at 10:00 PM. I found this concerning that if they are able to detect noise, are they able to listen to conversations, etc.? Noise travels easily in this unit. I could hear the upstairs neighbors throughout the day/night, and a few times the noise traveled into the AM hours. I would not stay in this unit again, I but did appreciate the neighborhood it being close to many community activities.

Visiting home

I grew up in St. Louis and try to get back to visit family and friends once a year. We usually stay in VRBOs in the Central West End or the Tower Grove/Hill neighborhoods. This was one of the nicer places we've stayed. It's a large three-bedroom apartment on the first floor, within easy walking distance of Tower Grove Park and the Missouri Botanical Garden. The layout, because of the remodeling, is unusual, with two front doors, including one into the main bedroom, but it worked fine. My only complaint is that it needs three-prong electrical outlets. We would definitely stay here again.

It was great and it was very comfortable to stay. The only thing I had a bit of a problem with was the parking in the back of the property. The other 2 cars that are parked back there did not take in consideration that I was parking back there as well. I have a medium/big vehicle and it was a bit of a tight squeeze

Great flat, great neighborhood

Really enjoyed our time in the Southwest Garden. What a charming area — tree-lined streets with grand old brick houses, duplexes and four-plexes. Walking distance to the Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park. A short hop to The Hill, The Grove, or onto 44 which gets you right into downtown. Loved it.

Functional and good location

We stayed for 5 nights. The location was great for all the activities we had planned, i.e. Six Flags, Zoo, Botanical Garden etc. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having a space together. Being able to do laundry was a plus as was a full kitchen. However, the only reasons we did not give a 4 or 5 star rating is due to the lack of insulation between the two floors. This is somewhat expected with older townhomes. Ordinarily this alone wouldn't have bothered us but whoever was staying above us had a small very yippy dog. I dont know if they live there or were visitors as well, either way it was annoying. Rhey would leave early and crate the poor dog leaving it to howl and cry in protest for over 2 hours. If you've had a long day waking up the next morning to that is not fun. The property management did respond quickly and it seemed to be curbed to an extent. Would we stay again? Probably but i would want confirmation that the dog wouldn't be there. Great location, enjoyed our stay abd appreciate the property management response.

Good overall

I was a little hesitant upon arrival as the property is listed as “luxury”, however, it is an old house with all the quirks that come with an old house. That being said, the property was clean and overall enjoyable. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet. We frequently saw people out walking their dogs or going for a run. Safety was my biggest concern so that was great. If you are traveling with a small child, I would suggest bringing your own pack n play as the one at the property is stained and I was more comfortable having my child sleep in it. The kitchen and bathrooms are very small.

Space and location were perfect for our weekend visit home to St. Louis. 3 large bedrooms worked great for our family. Kid friendly space with comfortable furniture. Pack and play and high chair were a plus. Loved having 1.5 baths. 3 TVs were set up with cable and easy to use. Kitchen was well stocked. One parking space in back was a plus. Easy walking distance to tower grove farmers market, playground, and the botanic gardens. Would definitely reserve the apartment again.

Had my two young children and two small dogs stay for an extended weekend. Home was very lovely and decor was tasteful. The magazines and reading material was up to date (great details), and communication was very clear. Check-out requirements were reasonable. Only had a few notes for improvement: a single stray hair was found on the tub wall, and the inner shower curtain was discolored on the bottom edge. Bathroom floor vent was very dusty. Stairs leading to the door are very steep, so my little dogs and children had a hard time stepping down. Others looking at this location, may be weary if they are physically bigger, as the main bathroom is narrow. Overall, we were very comfortable and had a great time walking around the neighborhood and exploring St. Louis. Could barely tell this was a townhouse! The brick and solid structure muffled a lot of the sound. Very convenient location and would absolutely stay again!

Quaint Home in Great Neighborhood

Nice older home that has been updated and remodeled. The bdrms are spacious but the beds are very firm. I didnt care for the pillows. The half bath inside one of the bdrms was packed into what used to be a closet but was functional. The full bath is very small and cramped. The tile around the tub needed cleaning. We didnt use the kitchen but appeared to have the necessities. The living room is spacious with a nice flat screen tv and many cable channels available. The neighborhood is great with a large park right down the street with walking trails. I would stay here again. The available parking spot behind the house was convenient.

St. Louis Memorial Day Weekend

Our stay at JZ Vacation Rentals property exceeded our expectations and we thank the property owners for making our weekend problem free. Our 17-month-old granddaughter made a bit of noise when she arrived Friday night and must have upset others in the building as it was brought to our attention, for that we do apologize. I would highly recommend the property and perhaps rent it again on our next visit to St. Louis.
