Saint Remy de Provence, a small town in the Regional Natural Park of the Alpilles, invites you to discover its riches: culture, heritage and festivals.
In the Provencal capital of the art of living where Nostradamus was born, you will find: gastronomy, local products, olive oil, wines and vineyards, crafts, the Provençal market, artists, beautiful shops and art galleries, walks and nature hikes, the places painted by Van Gogh, the Roman archaeological site Glanum, traditions: a Christmas in Provence, Transhumance, festivals and 300 days of sunshine a year ... Located in the heart of the Alpilles, Saint Rémy is one of the must of Provence. Its verdant valleys and subtly perfumed, its beautiful houses restored with taste and its charming old streets have made its success ...
While strolling quietly in its narrow and winding streets, you will come across beautiful old fountains, small shady squares welcoming pleasant restaurant terraces and elegant boutiques.
Saint Remy de Provence: From Place Jean Jaures to the gates of the old town, you will follow a long succession of mansions (often converted into a museum or art gallery), convents, chapels, and sumptuous residences of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
The beauty of its landscapes and the quality of its light have inspired many artists, writers and painters.
Saint Remy de Provence - Mansion The most famous is undeniably Vincent Van Gogh who painted more than 150 paintings in the countryside surrounding Saint Rémy de Provence
A walk on the places painted by the artist will allow you to discover the mountain of St Rémy, fields of wheat and poppies, olive trees and cypresses which remain imperturbable more than a century later.
Saint Rémy de Provence - Arc de Triomphe - GlanumSaint Rémy de Provence, a city of history, is built on one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe. The remains of the Comptoir de Glanum founded in the 3rd century BC, then remodeled by the Romans under Julius Caesar. They are an impressive testimony of the civilizations that have followed one another here. You can visit the large thermal baths, the long residential avenue, the temple and the natural source of a true Gallo-Roman city dating from 30 to 10 years BC. Two important monuments are visible near the site: the Arc de Triomphe and the Mausoleum of the Antiques.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was lovely. Good size for our family of five. We loved the pool and the location was amazing! Only wish: more cooking bowls and utensils.
We had a "perfect" stay from start to finish. Jana, the property management was there to greet and get us settled in. The location (could not be any better in Saint Remy), the set up of the interior of the house, parking in covered garage, refreshing pool and pool area - a highlight. The house has a very "good feel" to it. We will stay here again when we return to Provence.
Lovely house in a great location in the heart of St Rémy, yet away from all the hustle and bustle. 5 minute walk to bars, restaurants, weekly market, great fruit and veg shop, butcher, cheese shops etc. The house was very clean, the beds very comfortable, the AC a welcome feature during the hot nights.
Gérémi was very welcoming and accommodating, and very helpful throughout our stay, always available if we needed anything
A truly fantastic holiday in Provence overall. The house is very centrally located, but still a great size property for 6 people, and nicely private. The town of St Remy has everything you need within a short walk, and a great supermarket on the other side of town.Jean-Paul met us at check-in and gave a thorough tour around the property. It was a hot week, around 30 degrees every day, and so the air conditioning gave us great respite. Only upstairs, but seems to do the job well, in combination with a nice big ceiling fan in the main living area. The kitchen is fully functional with everything you need, including a nice large fridge, dishwasher, etc. We cooked most days, making good use of the plancher as well. The host was great. He grows lots of herbs and has several fruit trees, and encouraged us to help ourselves. He also generously left us a few gifts to help us with our arrival. Beers, some wine, some mini bread crostinis and tapenade. Also, some stock of washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, coffee pods, etc. I'm very keen to come back one day, and see more of the area. I'll be sure to consider this lovely house again!
