Langarra Estate, with its green lawns and welcoming breeze, is part of a historic 300-acre sugar plantation, now the prestigious, secluded 'Preserve at Botany Bay.' Langarra's very private hilltop site overlooks the Preserve's forested slopes and bays, to the dramatic necklace of surrounding, uninhabited small islands -- a 30-mile view, uninterrupted by signs of modern life, except the occasional sailboat passing by.

- Estate Langarra gently combines its fresh spirit with nature's age-old sensibilities. European simplicity combines with West Indian sensuality in furnishings, paintings and details throughout the house. With soaring ceilings above, and cool coral-stone floors underfoot, the light-filled interiors maximize the expanses of sky, sea and garden-green seen from every part of the house.
- There are four spacious bedroom suites, all with ocean views, large bathrooms and closets, and outdoor terraces. A fifth, bedroom/bath suite with 2 queen beds has its own adjacent living area and mini-kitchen -- perfect for children or teens, nannies, family elders, or those who may want a bit of separation. (Note: ALL 5 BEDROOMS ARE EQUIPPED WITH AC, WHILE THE VILLA'S PUBLIC ROOMS ENJOY NATURAL VENTILATION).
- Indoor living spaces extend outward onto the oversized, umbrella-shaded terraces. The large infinity-edge pool overlooks the sea... catching sunlight all day and during the soaked-sky sunset hours.
- A short 5 minutes away by car are two unique beaches, on the private grounds of the Preserve. These two beaches are yours to enjoy (often with no one else in sight)* --pristine, exquisite Sandy Beach (for sunning, bodysurfing, picnicking)... and Mermaid's Chair, the dramatic, delicate double-beach (good for swimming, exploring, beach-combing), where the cooler Atlantic Ocean and the warmer Caribbean Sea converge and blend.

Just a short 20-minute drive away are the attractions of town: world-class shopping, gourmet and casual dining, grocery stores, ferries, entertainment, nightlife, and tours.
Each day your choice becomes to enjoy the peace, space, sun, and utter privacy of Langarra and its beaches ...or take time beyond the gates to savor more 'connected' first-world pursuits, albeit island style.
We now have the Botany Bay Market just minutes from the villa that carries a large variety of food, alcohol and personal items.

*Note: a few times a year our island's north-facing beaches, including those at Botany Bay, are subject to Atlantic high-wave conditions (causing sand to temporarily shift offshore). In these conditions, we recommend guests enjoy expansive, south-facing Brewers Bay beach, just 12 minutes away, with its calm, undisturbed waters for swimming and snorkeling.

Nous avons adorĂ© notre sĂ©jour Ă  cette magnifique villa perchĂ©e dans la montagne ! Elle se situe Ă  30 minutes de la ville dans un coun trĂšs tranquille de l’üle . La villa est incroyable dans son design et de nombreux objets agrĂ©mentent son style . Corinna la concierge fait un travail extraordinaire et nous a aidĂ© lorsque nĂ©cessaire . La communication est rapide et efficace . La marche pour la plage est assez athlĂ©tique , trĂšs en pente et Ă  peu prĂšs 1h aller/retour . La plage est petite mais trĂšs jolie et il y a peu de monde . Seul bĂ©mol , la qualitĂ© des matelas des lits doubles . Les lits sont petits et les matelas sont fatiguĂ©s . Je suis sĂ»r que le propriĂ©taire verra Ă  amĂ©liorer celĂ  ! Sinon tout est impeccable et trĂšs agrĂ©able .

The home was beautifully appointed, incredibly comfortable, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. Peaceful Paradise

We had the most magical stay at this property. We visited The Langarra for my mom's 60th birthday and it couldn't have been a more perfect experience for our family. The property is gorgeous, the views are unreal, and the private beach was AMAZING. It was like a resort and was so therapeutic to wake up to those views. There were six of us in total and it was very spacious; everyone had their own little suite. We absolutely recommend this rental and will hopefully be back in the future!

Amazing stay at Langarra

Six adults and six children came to St Thomas for a 5 day vacation, and it was incredible. As other reviews said, pictures can’t do the house justice. The home was laid out great well with plenty of common areas, but also private bedrooms for everyone. The almost completely private Sandy Bay beach within Botany Bay was incredible. Was an incredible stay!

Amazing views at this secluded gem

Our family had a magnificent vacation at Langarra. The property's location provided the seclusion, quiet atmosphere and privacy we desired. The overlook of Botany Bay was beyond amazing and only enhanced the peacefulness of our stay. And the two semi-private beaches were only a short drive away and provided a nice adventure when we needed to stray from the house. The property had everything we needed from beach chairs & towels, ice machine, grill, kitchen cookware, and a gorgeous pool. This house is definitely a gem that I would highly recommend!

Perfect Paradise

This was our family's 2nd stay at this property in two years and it was just as amazing as the first time! We love this location for its privacy, beautiful views and access to a small but glorious private beach where we spend the better part of every day on! That being said, we did venture off the property for island hopping and grocery shopping as well as the ferry at Red Hook and the 30 min ride to Meghans Bay. The local market, the Botany Bay Market was a gem as it was right outside the gate and has a wonderful selection of goods. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed for a family of 13. We made many of our meals at the house and used the grill often. Truly a picturesque vacation!!We look forward to our next stay at Langarra!

Great Family Retreat

Great place for a family vacation. Incredible pool and pool views. Kids loved the pool, the access to Sandy Bay Beach (had it all to ourselves 99.5% of the time), the board games. Host and concierge were very responsive, house is well stocked with things necessary for our 1 year old (Pack n' Play, high chair etc) and felt incredibly safe which was good with the older kids since bedrooms, while in close proximity to each other, are detached/separate from one another. If you're looking to get away from it all with family, this is a great option.

Secluded paradise with views

Langarra, located in the gated Botany Bay Preserve, was perfect for our friends and family trip. The views are stunning and the house is well equipped to seat and feed 12. The mattresses and linens are all top quality. We loved cooking in the well stocked kitchen, and the hosts had many basics available for us, like flour, sugar and spices. The ice machine was a wonderful amenity for our beach days when we packed the provided coolers (and beach bags). The snorkeling in St Thomas is wonderful at Brewers Bay and Hull Bay - about 20 minutes of scenic driving. On this side of the island, the beaches are more suited to wave jumping. We drove the jeeps five minutes down to Mermaid’s chair and to Sandy Beach and enjoyed the crabs, hermit crabs and frogs. This property is located about 15 minutes from Moe’s North grocery. We used the Botany Bay market to fill in on items when we needed them. If I had to offer one suggestion, it would be to install a pool heater for winter, but our kids enjoyed the pool. We also enjoyed the anoles, deer and dwarf geckos we found on the property. What a paradise!

Exceptional Property

This is a bit of a cliche but the pictures and description don't do Langarra justice. I can't imagine there's a better place to stay on St. Thomas for any group of size (8-12). Our trip was all adults (45-55) but we're actively trying to organize a return with our young children and elderly grandparents. The house and grounds are amazing. Contact with the property owner and concierge were great and I strongly encourage future guests to use their recommendations for chefs and provisioning groups. The Botany bay area that the villa provides easy access to is beautiful, secluded, and well maintained. It's just a great place to have access to, I cannot recommend it enough.

Birthday Bash Celebration

Eight of us (four couples) stayed a week at Villa Langarra for a multiple birthday celebration, the Villa is so spacious that we never once felt like we were on top of each other. All bedroom suits are fully air conditioned, the living room with its massive floor to ceiling sliding glass doors and screens being the only room cooled down by the consistent trade winds. The grounds are well kept with lush greenery all around. The infinity edged plunge pool and the views of the Caribbean Sea were incredible. It felt like you could reach out and touch West Cay. The island of Culebra off of Puerto Rico’s east coast was in plane sight and sometimes Puerto Rico itself peeks out in the vast distance. The sunsets at Langarra are nothing less then amazing. The Villa Langarra is located on the hillside in a nature reserve with not another villa in sight, complete and total privacy and seclusion. At night we turned off all the lights and star gazed while floating in the pool, the sounds of the nocturnal nature enveloping all around you. Corinna who is the Concierge was nothing short of top notch, full of helpful tips and information. Check in and out was relaxed and easy and communication was exceptional. If you are looking for total seclusion wrapped in a lush tropical environment, then this is your place!

Nice house and amazing view...

The views are breathtaking and the home is nice. Bob and Corinna were very nice and easy to work with. Communication was good up and through arrival and stay. The only MAJOR disappointment was that we could not access Mermaids Beach the entire week. One of the main reasons we booked this house were for access to the 2 semi private beaches. They were doing road work and you couldn't get a car or even walk down the street as it was all tore up. So we stayed at Sandy Bay the entire time which was amazing but again just very disappointing that we didn't have both and this wasn't communicated to us prior to arrival. The house boasts amazing views that cannot be denied. Beautiful sunsets each night. The home is beautiful but there is definitely a little bit up upkeep that needs to take place as there are 2 broken windows in the house and the outdoor furniture is due for replacing. That said, the Inside was nice and very well stocked with dishes/paper supplies/towels etc. Could not want for anything so great job Bob. The house was very clean. The neighborhood felt safe, secluded and secure. We loved our morning walks all over and even to the beach and back. It's a hike so take water and know that it's a workout. Overall a great stay and family vacation and I am glad we booked this home.

Best vacation we have ever had!

We chose to stay here for our 50th anniversary trip with our children and grandchildren and it was perfect for us. There are a variety of outdoor sitting areas where individual families can gather to be together or retreat to a private room when needed. We spent most of our time in the large common area overlooking the pool and the spectacular view. The kitchen is well supplied with equipment and a joy to work in. Beautiful grounds. The property owner and manager took such good care of us and we made many precious memories that we will enjoy forever. Thank you Bob and Corinna.

Can’t wait to go back!!

It was the perfect home for us. It’s beautiful, exactly like the pictures. The kitchen was great to have since we were a group of ten and did not want go out to dinner every night. The kitchen was well stocked with seasonings, pans and anything else you would need to cook your dinner. We were very surprised on how well it was stocked and we didn’t need to pick up very much except for the main ingredients. The kitchen dining room living room is not air-conditioned, but it was not horrible. It’s great to sit there and look out into the beautiful view of the ocean. The bedrooms were all air conditioned each had their own private large bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was enough space for everybody in our group. The infinity pool was unbelievable to float around and look out into the ocean. They have floats,snorkel gear, beach chairs, noodles, cooler, sunscreen and aloe, Everything you would need for the beach. From the time we booked the house, Corinna was always very responsive. We thought the whole experience from the time of booking to the time we left was fabulous. It’s the most beautiful home, very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay and the gorgeous paintings that were displayed throughout the house. We would definitely go back and if the owners have prosperities we would definitely give it a try. Can’t go wrong with this place. One Sidenote, it is about 40 minutes away from the East End but we had a car so it never bothered us.

Heaven on Earth

Stunning tropical haven! Secluded and secure spot with three gated entrances. We had all the essentials at our fingertips. Renting a car is a must, as everything is a minimum of 20 minutes away, and taxi fares are exorbitant. Keep in mind, food costs are high due to imports. Paradise is the perfect word to describe this home and the semi private beach that our family of 10 had to ourselves!

Luxury vacation with the comfort of home

We spent 6 days at the Langarra and had a wonderful time. The home is more stunning than the photos on the listing and the view is fabulous. We felt like we were living luxuriously, but also felt at home because it was so comfortable. The house literally has everything that you need except for food. Bob was very responsive and so welcoming. We met Corinna upon our arrival and adopted her as an additional family member. She was available for all of our needs and questions. We're going to miss her and the Langarra. I would definitely recommend others to stay here while visting STVI. We look forward to coming back

Family Vacation

The property was all that we expected it to be. Everyone had their own space (7 adults and 2 kids) in addition to the common areas that everyone congregated in. Loved the pool, which has a shallow section on the one end for the kids. The views to the West were spectacular and never disappointed.

Family vacation

Robert and Corinna were easy to work with. The property has an amazing view. Best ever. The house does need some fixing up. Some windows were broken and the property needs some paint and rehabbing. The layout was outstanding. My biggest issue was the amount of heat in the house. The main rooms kitchen and great room had fans everywhere. No air conditioning. Bedrooms were fine and air conditioned. My only real issue is if you pay this much for the rental you should get Air in the places where your family congregates. Other than that we enjoyed the stay. It has one of the best views you will ever see. Truly A+.

Paradise up on a hill

Our group absolutely loved our stay at Langarra! The view is something that you must see in person and is still being talked about by our group after the stay. (6 adults & 5 kids ranging from 7-12) We were initially looking for something on the beach, but opted for a house with an amazing pool and a view. We chose right! The beach is a short three minute drive down the hill which sounds like it would be walkable, but it’s all up hill on the way back so just drive. We rarely saw anyone on the beach so it felt like it was just ours when we went down there. Remember that the tides and currents change day to day if you have kids so make sure the adults check things out first. We found that one day the kids were getting pushed towards the rocks at one end so we just enjoyed playing in the sand but the other days were perfect! Corinna is amazing and always responded when we had a question. Thank you Corinna! We would highly recommend an excursion of some sort that allows you to see the island. We chartered a full day catamaran that took off from the east side of the island, so ask Corinna about how to set up a shuttle ride to the marina so you don’t have to worry about driving back after a day of fun on the water. Cannot recommend Langarra enough, it’s truly paradise up on a hill!
