Peaceful property

Bringing black out shades is super helpful!
The closet in the bedroom is big enough for a portable crib.
Be sure to bring toilet paper. We only had one full and one partial roll between the two bathrooms(and they were paper thin). Because there isn’t anywhere super close, it’s nice to know to pack some ahead of time :)
The road is so peaceful and we went on the trail quite a few times. It was a bit wet, so we didn’t make it all the way to GWNF, but very much enjoyed the trail.
The Star in the Valley winery is fairly close and a breathtaking location. Highly recommend.
If you enjoy sitting on the porch in the evening, be sure to wear bug repellent. It was insane, we got eaten up!! I think it was a type of gnat?

A friendly reminder to our wonderful, appreciative guests, we do not provide paper products (TP, paper towels and garbage bags) for your entire stay but do provide base amounts, enough to get you started. Please do plan to bring what you will need.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

Lovely cabin
Publié le 14 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful quiet location. Very close to the forest, but unfortunately there is a large stream that runs across the trail that leads to GWNF. Otherwise, a nearly perfect place! The host's communication was great as well.
We enjoyed the pool table (can be table tennis as well), and the variety of hikes a short drive away. Some of the furniture had animal hair on it from a previous guest. A deeper clean would have been appreciated, but it wasn't a major concern.
We will consider visiting again in the future!

Valentine's Long Weekend Getaway!

Another great Christmas getaway
Publié le 27 déc. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is the second time we’ve stayed at the cabin over Christmas. It’s just right for me, my hubby, and our two dogs. We didn’t even go to the downstairs- but if we had a bigger group, the house would easily accommodate 4 more people.
Location is great! Up on a mountain where you can’t hear cars or people noise. Plenty of room to roam with our pups. They loved all of the “sniffs” and diving for critters in the fields.
It’s just a short walk to the GWNF for even more hiking opportunities.
To say the kitchen is stocked would be an understatement! Everything you need except for perishables. All the pots, pans, dishes, spices, etc you could ever want! The bath is also stocked with a fun variety of soap, shampoo, lotions…
And there were cozy throws everywhere to cuddle up with.
Carla even decorated for the holidays. Such sweet, thoughtful touches made it a perfect home-away from home.
The house is spotless.
One extra-special touch - the neighbor stopped by with Homemade Christmas cookies She’s starting a baking business and they were wonderful!!
We are thinking to make this our new holiday tradition.

Absolutely gorgeous location!

My kids really loved the downstairs with the bunk bed area, pool table, full bath & very comfy couches. There's a river on property and access to national forrest. The walks were amazing!

Beautiful calm getaway

The back roads were so pretty with the leaves. It was a nice slow down . We will return for a longer stay next time . Thank you for the humbling memories we were able to make.

Mountain Paradise
Publié le 6 nov. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property was just as it was advertised on Vrbo. The property had easy access to hiking trails which is exactly what me and my boyfriend were looking for. It was a gorgeous house with everything you could ask for. There was plenty of activities on and around the property that you don't need to really leave to go out. We stopped in town before arriving to buy a few groceries, and there was alot of basic necessites also provided by the owner which is amazing. Overall the house and property are amazing.
