Two weeks prior to our arrival date, Retreatia notified us that the unit we had chosen months earlier was under renovation and not available. (The listing photos showed a very lovely and fully renovated unit.) They gave us 3 alternative listings. All looked bad but we chose the best looking one. It was terrible in every way. Other than a new kitchen counter and cabinets, the unit came out of the 60âs. Carpets were terrible, TVâs were falling off the wall, showers were so old, the outer white glossy wrap was warn through and the inner construction material was exposed. Multiple cords hung for TVâs and fully occupied plugs. The WiFi didnât work at all for the first day and was very spotty the entire time. One of only two elevators was broken and out of service, fans provided due to lack of AC were broken, closets were fully stuffed with old and unused bedding and the blanket on the bed was ancient and very badly pilled. The quilt we chose to replace it was stained with blood. The picture of the listing showed a lovely pool and spa. Neither was there. This was a disaster and a real bait-and-switch by the listing company. We will not use them ever again and we will never return to this building again.
Agency was very responsive with issues. Specifically the shower drain was clogged with nasty hair. Something the cleaning crew obviously saw but choose to ignored. The pull out bed needs replacement (not the mattress, the whole bed). The heat register makes constant noise at night that made it difficult to sleep. Master closet is full with no place for luggage. No shelves or hooks in the ski locker which makes more than 2 sets difficult to store with boots. It's a bit far from the slopes but not unmanageable. You will be walking through mud to get to and from the slopes. The biggest issue is that the elevator is out of service and 4 floors of stairs gets old quick.Would we stay here again? It depends on the price and the elevator. Maybe we are getting spoiled or picky but I think we would spend a bit more to be closer to the slopes and in a place with an elevator. The place is right but just at a lower price.
Older building with a broken elevator so you had to hump your food and duffels a long way up stairs. Lots of stairs. View of some runs of the bottom slope are interesting and the afternoon sum is very nice from the small balcony. A lot of money for what it is
This is a nice place, close to the slopes and the unit is just steps from the hot tub. Fun games and full supplies in the kitchen. Super comfy bed. So many pillows. And the view from the deck can't be beat.
The interior of this unit is (mostly) updated, but like most aging ski condo complexes, getting in and out is a mission. The labyrinthian journey to this unit is only made worse by the ongoing replacement construction of its parking garage, which might be done in 2024. Until then, plan on carrying your bags and groceries for hundreds of yards, and maybe parking in the public garage a half-mile away.
Also, the wasp nest in the wall of the deck required a change of lodging, and to the property manager's credit, they did so in just an hour or two. Unfortunately, the property I was reassigned to was def not updated, but that's another story.
