The Stoney home is a private oasis nestled atop the ocean bluff, with floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views out over the ocean and the California coast. Curl up in front of the stone electric fireplace and listen to the waves crash onto the rocks below.

From the moment you enter the home, you can see the attention to detail in this one of a kind space. The interior has been professionally remodeled and decorated by One 9 Development, with the intent to maintain the charm of the classic Sea Ranch style, while bringing it up to more modern tastes.

This three-story house has an open floor plan with new carpeting and stone floors is perfect for entertaining and cooking at home, which can be done in the newly remodeled kitchen with granite countertops. At the Stoney home you will have plenty of options: breakfast can be served at the built-in kitchen nook overlooking the living room and the views beyond, lunch can be outside on the bluff at the large picnic table, and dinner can be served at the glass table in the living room, with its breathtaking views of the sea.

Need to catch the big game during your stay? The brand new, 47-inch flat screen TV should appease even the biggest sports enthusiast.

This property is unique in its versatility, being equally suited to a romantic couple’s getaway as well as a family retreat or a group of friends on holiday. Two dogs are allowed as well.

Stargaze as you sit in the hot tub just outside your bedroom. Located on the ground floor, the master bedroom has sliding glass doors which open directly onto a deck with private hot tub. From there you can take a few steps to the edge of the bluff to watch the sunset from a pair of Adirondack chairs. Offering the ultimate in relaxation and pampering, this bedroom is decorated in calming shades of blue, with a large king-size bed. The 32-inch flat screen TV is perfect for time spent indoors. Adjoining this bedroom is a bathroom with stand-up shower.

The second bedroom is a sunny room with a sliding glass door leading out to the bluff with views of the cove below. The room is awash with yellow hues and features a seagrass bed and side chair, epitomizing its warm, modern look and feel. The third bedroom is a private room at the end of the hall.

*For safety reasons, it is advised that children staying in this home be 12 years of age or older.

Things to Know:

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Favorite tradition
We have loved coming to Stoney House the last several years. We have always been comfortable in the house and happy with its amenities. This year there were a few issues on arrival. All of the Adirondack chairs were either broken or off the cliff. Bottlecaps and tin foil all over the yard. The master bath door has fallen off the hinge. There was dog urine on the master bedroom curtain (We washed the curtain and rehung it) It was windy and stormy and water leaked through the upstairs slider doors and created puddles on the floor. We tried to keep it at bay with towels. A hanging picture was broken inadvertently. We cleaned up all the glass and left it for housekeeping to see. We are looking forward to staying again next year and hope to see Stoney House continue to get the care it deserves.

The VIEW!
The view was STUNNING. You are literally on a cliff watching the waves crash into rocks right below. It's truly breathtaking and it made up for any other isses.suggestions we had for the house. The house has a great layout and all the beds had a temperpedic.memory foam topper which made them all super comfortable. It has a very rustic vibe which is part of the charm. That said, note the house is definitely old - and in need of some repairs -It has a lot of deferred maintnenace needed, water stains, could use some weedwacking and windows are super old, but you come here to get away and enjoy the view so it didnt bother us. That said if you have kids, that cliff is no joke. Luckily the house connects to a fenced in deck and a hot tub area that is fenced in so we werent concerned. You can keep them contained. Note to owners though: The little barn door gates on the hot tub fence were broken unfortunately - definitely recommend that being fixed for safety. We propped up chairs to keep the kids and dog from running out by the cliff. Perfect place to work remote. Strong wifi upstairs (less in the master). Recommend moving the router to master. New floors and carpet. We loved it here! The neighborhood is just a small road so limited on getting out and walking the dog or taking bikes out with kids. For that I'd recommend the bigger neighborhoods with lots more streets. We also didnt have beach access or walking path access here but being on top of this cliff is truly the appeal!!

Mice infested and biting bugs trash cans full No help from property management
This was hands down the worst vacation experience we have ever experienced a lot of things were broken and missing when we arrived plus the garbage cans outside the home were full from the previous guest so now where to throw the trash out also hair on bed pillows and both sofas stains on the carpet in various places holes in the walls as well deck with the bbq is falling apart very unsafe bbq is actually sinking and boards are failing no screens on the sliding doors or 90% of the windows so we let the vcsa rep that contacted us through text asking us to rate the cleaning when we arrived we sent them pictures of all the findings that was the day we arrived on a Thursday around 4:30 they said the were so sorry and would contact the local team to get the trash cans empty and thanked us for sending the pictures and comments and that as soon as they heard back from the local team they would also reach out to us never heard from anybody on Sunday I had finally had it and texted them back and told them about the new issue the mice running around while we were watching tv and eating food on the kitchen counter as well as pictures of the droppings on the kitchen window sills not just one and many droppings again the Vcsa rep texted us that they would contact the local staff and get back to us as soon as they heard back from them it never happened once again just blew us off or didn’t care only thing that did happen was on Monday trash bin was emptied but we checked out on Tuesday mo

Beautiful escape
The property is exactly as pictured. The home is beautiful, secluded and serene. Grocery store is a little further out so make sure you pack everything you need. Home is stocked with all the essentials. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful home
Stunning views, wonderful house and location. A few small items were overlooked, 2 lights out in bathroom, deck had a worn and dangerous wood pnake in front of BBQ. Felt the house could use a deep clean, but overall can't beat the location. When you arrive, you are required to go into the local town to pick up a welcome package which has car passes, etc. After a very long and slow drive from SF having to go 10 miles past the home was exhausting. Wish the welcome package was just left in the house.

Greatest location!
We have vacationed at Sea Ranch more than a dozen times. The Stoney House views and location are the best! We enjoyed the lack of neighbors with sea lapping one hundred feet below. Sea Ranch trails were a short drive nearby. As a rental, the house has some deferred maintenance - but who cares. We were there for the location and views.

Beautiful view with house desperate need for maintenance
As we walked up to the door the railing was rusted the grass area next to the front door was overgrown. There was a dandelion about 3 feet tall. The door and the entire house need staining. The lamps shades don’t fit and the lamps wobble when you try to turn them on. The windows are dirty and there are screens missing. Furniture was shopworn and uncomfortable. The mbr bed was impossible to sleep on. Both of us,got back pain from trying to sleep there. We would NEVER rent this property again we were very disappointed.
