Mountainside Resort has issued a do-not-drink water mandate due to high PFAS levels. Water is also available at the Mountainside office and pool area. Additionally, the owner has provided drinkable water in the unit. Water should only be used in instances where it is not being consumed.

Discover a bright, comfortable, and perfectly located home base for skiing, mountain biking, and hiking at this lovely condo in Stowe's Mountainside Resort. In this ideal location just off the Mountain Road between the ski slopes and the village, you'll be treated to a pair of decks (one covered and one open), as well as a Napoleon fireplace that you can curl up next to as you watch movies on a Smart TV. Enjoy such wonderful, shared amenities as an indoor pool and hot tub, a fitness center, and tennis courts. Then, come home to thoughtful details that include a Fujitsu air conditioner, wide-slat cherry wood floors, a Speakman luxury showerhead, and free wi-fi and mobile device charging lamps.

The condo is located just five miles from the scenic slopes of Stowe Mountain and Mount Mansfield, the tallest mountain in Vermont. This condo also enjoys a tranquil setting only two miles (a five-minute drive) west of Stowe Village and five miles (a 10-minute drive) southeast of Stowe Mountain Resort. You can stroll down the hill to catch the free trolley that runs between the village and the slopes or enjoy some of Stowe's best restaurants and breweries (including Picasso and The Alchemist), the renowned recreation path, various specialty shops, and the Stowe Farmers Market within walking distance. In the wintertime, take your pick of 116 trails and 12 lifts on the slopes of Stowe; come summer, you'll have your choice of three nearby golf courses, ZipTours, scenic gondola rides, and world-class hiking and mountain biking at Stowe.

Starting Friday, December 20, 2024, due to necessary repairs to the retaining wall, the parking lot for Buildings F and G will be closed during the winter months. We anticipate the repair work to be completed by spring to early summer 2025. As a safety precaution cars are not being allowed to park in F and G lot. Please note that the retaining wall is for support of the parking lot and does not affect the condominium structure.

Alternative Parking Arrangements:

To accommodate you during this time, there are designated over 20 parking spots in the following areas:

*Tennis court driveway
*Across from the office and check-in area
*For added convenience, a stairway has been constructed from the tennis court driveway leading directly to the entrances of Buildings F and G.

Safety Issues

The location of this unit is ideal for my purposes, being walkable to downtown AND a short drive away from skiing. The unit itself is nice and was well-enough described. However, the water in the larger condo complex is contaminated with forever chemicals that earned the resort a total drinking water ban from the state. This information was not communicated on the website, was not communicated to me by the owner, and was only discovered (2 days into our stay) when we stumbled upon a random flyer on the side of the refrigerator. As that flier explained, it is not even safe to brush one's teeth with that water. We had been doing so, of course. We had also drunk water from the tap since the water cooler in the dining area was plugged into an empty tank when we arrived. In any case, and especially since the unit provides such a cooler, it would be an easy solution for Vacasa and the local managers to explain this problem clearly to prospective renters, ahead of time, so that they can decide whether they wish to risk their health by staying in the unit. Again, these are cancer-causing agents, and no amount of them can be considered safe. When I called to complain to Vacasa several days after my stay--and to demand some kind of appropriate response--I was told I would receive a call back after local staff members were reached. Many, many days have passed, and no call. Nothing from owner either. I don't expect to hear back. Serious ethical violation here. Beware.

Comfy stay in stowe

Good location, convenient to the ski areas and downtown. Property is clean and well-maintained, and temperature control was fine. Neighbors are quiet and respectful. Kitchen is well-equipped and has modern appliances. The negatives included: limited hot water in the bathrooms, during our visit the water was not drinkable or usable for cooking given county order (mitigated in part by plenty of water made available by host), and parking outside was restricted given construction requiring a not so fun 100 yard walk uphill to the unit. Unit would also benefit from more instructions, as we also had trouble finding the lock box for the unit given darkness at check in time, and there were no check out instructions at the property. Without these temporary issues would have been a four-star review.

A beautiful part of Vermont

The location was very good for us with excellent access to food, entertainment and beautiful fall colors. The condo is tired and needs some work. One of the showers did not work and it looks like even if it did water would be getting behind the diverter into the wall. The heater in the second bathroom did not work. The heater in the living room did not work. We got the pilot going but it never responded to calls from the thermostat. The walls need repair and painting and the carpets look very dirty and either need a good deep cleaning or replacement. The “grill” is an open grill that needs charcoal and a lighter (fluid or a starter). Staying there for 3 nights we were not going to buy all of that. I would say that “grill” is useless for most people. The unit is on the top floor ( which is only a few steps up from the parking lot).There is a good view and the neighborhood is very quiet. With good weather the balcony is spectacular. With some work and replacement of living room furniture this could be a very nice condo for a small family or two couples. One of the three bedrooms is very small but would work for two children. Vacasa never responded to the heating issue. I told them we would live with it, but that they should check it out between rentals.

rental apartment near Stowe Mountain

The location ten minutes from Stowe mountain and a few minutes to Stowe itself was very good. The place was very clean when we arrived, with the exception of a shower curtain that needs replacing. The accommodations were as advertised. There were a couple issues. We only managed to get the gas fire place lit one day out of four. It just would not light another time and we gave it several serious efforts (reading directions, getting more info online). The coffee maker did not have a coffee pot. I texted Vacasa to request one and my request was acknowledged, however, a coffee pot never arrived, with 3 days left in our visit. The water pressure in the showers was a little low, as other reviews stated, but time to get how water was OK. However, the master bath plumbing to shift water from faucet to shower head doesn't work well (need replacing) and that made showing difficult. It was a nice place and would have gotten an unqualified positive review, without these issues.

Primary bathroom had a hole in the wall of the shower, making it unusable. The pullout sofa was broken, so we did not have sleeping for 8 as the listing stated. The unit was not cleaned properly. Communication with Vacasa was awful. I would never rent with them again.

Nice stay in Vermont

The appartment is nice. Spacious and has a nice deck. The problem with hot water , mentioned in other reviews, still remains. Especially in the master bedroom it takes a long time to get a tiny bit of hot water. Also the appartment needs some repairs: the parasol on the deck, the bug screen at a bedroom. Also one of deck chairs collapsed ( missing screws, but we found them) causing her to hit her head hard on the deck. This said overall we loved staying her.

We ended up leaving early after we discovered a broken umbrella on the deck, broken deck furniture, broken curtains, broken screens on the windows, and broken smoke detector. There is NO hot water. The towels were as thin as you could see threw. We walked in to the temp being almost 80, a smoke detector going off, and non of the lights or TV was operational. I honestly can’t believe this place is available for rent and that we paid for this. We ended up coming home early after messaging and calling for help. We finally got a call back on the fourth day of our stay but had left already. I wish I could add pictures to describe the how bad it was. I rented it for the deck and nothing operated on the deck and the 4 large flower pots all had dead flowers in it.

This is great!

I love this property, well located, clean, comfy however, the reason for only 3 stars overall was the showers... one of them never had hot water, the other one, could not be regulated to decent temperature and was burning hot... we managed and figured that for 2 days, we can manage but it was an inconvenience, I called the Vacasa so it will be fixed for the next guest... hopefully they get it done

The location is great, and the condo well appointed. For those that care, cookware was much better than is usually provided at rentals. Also made use of the kitchen herbs growing on the back porch. The shared pool an hot tub were nice. But
 there really isn’t much water pressure, especially in the master bathroom. Hot water is slow in coming (10 or 15 minutes) and fleeting. This has been mentioned by several other reviewers, so I was mentally prepared. It did make getting a full, warm shower at the next place we stayed really enjoyable.

Great Place in Stowe

This is a great stay in Stowe. The apartment is well appointed and clean. It's clearly used by a happy loving family. It's close to many activities in the area. The balcony is beautiful and when we stayed there planters held many flowers and herbs. One issue though is that the water pressure is very low because it's gravity fed. All in all we had a nice stay and I'd recommend it.
