Moriston Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

The traditional terraced highland cottage provides spacious accommodation on a single level for up to 4 people. The layout makes it a comfortable home from home with oil-fired central heating, modern kitchen, a comfortable sitting/dining room and free WiFi. There is a quiet private garden reached by a flight of steps at the rear of the cottage making a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the evening sun. The utility room provides plenty of space for hanging outdoor kit whilst the front vestibule provides more coat hanging and room for golf clubs/fishing rods and other essentials.
The village facilities are all within an easy walk and include a Spar Shop for everyday supplies, Lochcarron Garage for fuel on the doorstep (always of benefit in the highlands) and eating out at one of the three popular restaurants; there are also other hotels and restaurants in the near vicinity of Lochcarron as well as in surrounding villages such as Kishorn, Applecross, Shieldaig and Strathcarron.
The local area provides outstanding opportunities for seeing the highlands at their best including the fabulous scenery and wildlife. The local walks suit all abilities and if you would like some local assistance then guided walks and sea tours are available. Alternatively a quiet exploration of the long established Attadale Estate Gardens with its sculpture collection and historic rhododendron collection makes a worthwhile afternoon outing. Whilst in the highlands it is also fun to watch a local game of Shinty and cheer on the local Lochcarron team. Golf is of course available with a 9 hole course on the Loch shore providing stunning views, there is also a pleasant tea room for refreshments afterwards.

This property was in an ideal location to explore the west of scotland and the Isle of Skye. The village had amenities that suited our needs, a well sticked shop tea rooms and local restaurants. The cottage itself was well equipped and spotlessly clean and comfortable All information was given before we arrived and host checked in with us once we arrived. It was perfect for 2 of us but had enough room for a small family of 4.

Amazing stay! The location was incredible, and we were really lucky to get snow. The cottage was warm despite the below freezing temperatures and had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back.

Moriston Cottage is a delightful house right in the middle of Lochcarron, a very lovely small village on the water. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the house is well furnished and provisioned with all required for an enjoyable stay. Communication with property management was at all times fast and very helpful. We would recommend this property and the location very highly.

Lovely cottage with amazing views

We had a lovely stay for our silver wedding anniversary. We stayed in lochcarron for our honeymoon. The cottage was just what we needed and so close to the village centre. The facilities at the cottage were excellent and our dog enjoyed her stay too

Wonderful stay, highly recommend!

This cottage is splendid, excellent location right on main. You feel like a local. In evenings and mornings it is so quiet and lovely. Everything worked like it should and check in was seamless. Its about 30 min drive from actual isle of sky but is a beautiful drive. Can walk to local restaurants very easily. This was my favorite stay on our trip to Scotland.

Beutiful setting

Loved our time in the Highlands. The experience would be improved by having a notebook onsite with key information such as wifi password, clean-up etc. There was only a 2 year old hand-written note (somewhat cranky!) with cleaning info and we had a difficult time deciphering some of the handwriting.

A lovely stay in Moriston Cottage despite the rain

We spent a wonderful week in Moriston Cottage despite the rain. Everything was very clean and the cottage is very well equipped, we had everything we needed. There is everything in the kitchen if you want to cook and lots of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The beds are very comfortable. There is a lovely enclosed back garden which is good if you have a dog. There are plenty of really good restaurants in walking distance, and a lot more if you want to drive there (Applecross Inn, Gille Brigdhe in Diabaig etc.) There are wonderful walks in the area, easier walks and also hikes up Munroes, so there is plenty to do, even if the weather is not too good. We spent a wonderful week in Moriston Cottage and can only recommend it.
