A true five star experience
Posted Oct. 15, 2023 on HotelsA truly 5-star experience. The hotel staff is exceptional, with the ability to make you feel welcome whether this is your first time visitor or a returning guest. We found that the best thing to do was to go with the flow of the place and let it delight us, and it was worth it.
A few pointers to other guests. The rooms are lovely and spacious, if a bit overwhelmingly baroque. The building is old but well-maintained. Exquisite. At times it feels like you’re in a museum. It’s worth upgrading to a lake view room.
If you want a break from the baroque, head over to the spa which is modern as it gets.
The indoor and outdoor pools are lovely, the views are stunning. The complimentary spa offer is perfect but if you want to experience the treatments go ahead.
We found some of them a little bit gimmicky but pleasant (we tried the Pathway to Heaven, a 2-hour couple’s experience which in hindsight was not the best thing to do but it was ok).
All in all, we met several other guests who keep returning to the hotel time and again, over many years. We can see why, and we ourselves are booking a return trip for next year.
