Little Mountain Retreat – Where the Bush meets the Beach

The Beach or the Bush? Now you can have the best of both worlds when you stay at ‘Little Mountain Retreat’. Hidden away at the top of a winding driveway you will find a modern take on the quintessential Queensland cottage. This bespoke home offers the ideal spot to relax and recharge, yet at the same time is only 5.5kms from the beautiful beaches, restaurants and shops of Caloundra and all the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland has to offer.

Inside the home, you'll find a spacious, light and bright open plan living/dining space adjoining the unique chef's kitchen, with its timber bench top, statement splashback, stainless steel appliances and a ceramic Butler's sink. With beautiful polished cypress floors, handcrafted timber joinery and cabinetry, this home is comfortable and relaxing.

After a hard day at the beach or enjoying one of the many local attractions, relax with a cool drink or two on the covered veranda overlooking 2.5 acres of private bush reserve. Kangaroos come to graze on the lawns right at the house while Kookaburras laugh in the trees as the sun sets over the ridge. As night falls feel right at home in the 1000 thread count linens and warm doona.

With a comfortable second bedroom and second bathroom, there is room for all the family or friends, and for that extra occasion there is a deluxe double fold out sofa in the lounge. Both bedrooms and the lounge room also have split system air-conditioning units for your added comfort.

Please Note - We have a strict no party policy nor is the house available to ‘schoolies’.

Wonderful property

This was a dream property. It was utterly delightful. So well maintained and with everything you might need. The information files were fantastic. Just be aware the drive is very steep. We loved every minute here and we had planned to stay here longer.

Looking for a Christmas getaway where the only jingle you’ll hear is kangaroos hopping around? This place delivered! It was so peaceful you could hear the festive cheer of silence. The house was spotlessly prepared, like Santa’s elves had swung by before us. The best part? When our water decided to take a holiday too, the owners swooped in like Christmas superheroes and fixed it on Christmas Day! Talk about dedication—Santa could learn a thing or two from them. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a mix of serenity, wildlife, and a landlord more reliable than Rudolph’s GPS!

The main bed was unusable and in urgent need of a new mattress, we slept on the couch. Good location and surrounded by bush with kangaroos and birds. House was clean and well setup.

Beautiful house and property

Little Mountain Retreat was a very relaxing and homely place to stay at. We had everything we needed in the house, and it was very beautifully presented. We loved the feeling of being amongst the trees and seeing the kangaroos and birds, while also being so close to shops and restaurants, the beach, and the hinterland. Rachel was so lovely to communicate with and answered all our questions. We would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone travelling to the Sunshine Coast, and would definitely come back!

Little House on the hill

Well presented little house with everything you may need. Very steep driveway which was overgrown. Don't recommend arriving after dark. Still a good drive away from the beach (10-15 mins). Not as comfortable as we had hoped as far the bed and sheets went. A neighbour's barking dog and traffic noises meant it wasn't as quiet as we had hoped. Everything was in good working order.

Easter time getaway

We all really enjoyed our extra long weekend at Little Mountain Retreat.The property was amazing we loved all the comfortable finishing touches which made our stay so much enjoyable. Great family trip at Little Mountain

The house was so lovely and had everything we needed plus some little extra's we were not expecting but truly appreciated. not having to pack towels and linen was an added bonus. The view from every window is truly spectacular and relaxing. Trees and sky was our view for two days and I felt totally refreshed after spending the weekend at Little Mountain. Thank you to the owners for hosting our thoroughly enjoyable weekend. We will be back very soon.

A wonderful place tucked in amongst the trees

Amazing property to stay at! Loved the timber doors and deck. Bbq-ed and dined outside, was perfect. Very tidy property and nice and private...just right for us. Kitchen has quality cookware (Scanpan) and the pantry essentials was a welcome surprise (foil, cooking paper, sauces, oils, rice, pasta). Aptly sized fridge freezer for a homestay. The only disappointments were the bath (let down on size) and the showers (had low pressure). Loved the room sprays and showering sets in the bathrooms though so have ordered some for our home! A great place to stay, a credit to you Rachael. Thank you for your hospitality.
