The building has been so beautifully renovated with careful attention to every detail. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the staff warm and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The location cannot be beaten. Loved every aspect of our stay.
Great spot with excellent breakfast and attentive staff. Only drawback was that our room door was not very soundproof so we heard everything that went on in the hallway but would definitely stay here again
Beautiful old world charm. Elevator to upper floors but several steps up and down between rooms. Missed that it was shared bathroom but no-one was nextdoor so not an issue. Staff were amazing. Loved our stay!
This was a lovely place to stay in a great spot in town. Everywhere was very clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The shower pressure was great. My room didn't have the best view (it was of a wall) but I booked last minue on the day so probably didn't get the best room. Would definitely stay again and maybe upgrade!
Overall we had a great stay at the Russell boutique hotel. Conveniently located for what we required for the weekend. Parking right next door. Circular and the Rocks on our doorstep. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean, a credit to the very recent refurbishment, and although no view and no seating in our room, this was made up for with the beautiful roof top balcony only steps away from our room. Breakfast was included in our stay and was cooked to order from the menu. Highly recommended.
I booked the hotel in March, I booked an economy double room. When I arrived, I was told that the room do not have a shower or toilet - that it had a shared toilet and shower. I showed them my booking and receipt that says nothing about a shared toilet or shower. They also told me they don't even have an economy double - the rooms all had names. They put me in a room with an en-suite for a few hundred more per night. I have learned that the hotel "reopened" in May, which I presumed was responsible for the change in price. They told me I would have to take it up with Expedia which I did but Expedia said there was nothing they could do. I believe the hotel should have honored the Expedia reservation at the price I paid for a room where amenities were listed as "bathroom." I was also told that breakfast was included but two mornings worth of breakfast was included in the bill - I have reached out to the hotel, but they have not answered. My advice: the hotel is lovely but make sure you deal directly with the hotel and get it in writing what you are paying for
Great except the breakfast which was a 5/10, and the unexpected increase cost of Wilson carpark. Even the hotel was not informed (can’t blame them). But the lovely manager (Valentine?) was responsive and offered a solution. Thank you, we’ll be back.
We enjoyed our stay at The Russell. The staff were friendly and helpful and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. Perfectly located to enjoy everything The Rocks has to offer including Vivid, we had lots to do and see within in a short stroll. Returning to the hotel we loved the live music in the small pub and it was the only place open until 12pm on the street.
Our room was perfect, although no air conditioner, a ceiling fan and a heater was the only option, but it added to the antique charm.
Breakfast is included and although limited, it had our favourite options on the menu.
We would definitely stay there again, loved it!
