Welcome! Get ready for hibernation and to enjoy the fall foliage at the Bear Den Cottage. The beautifully decorated cottage will be your home away from it all while being surrounded by wildlife and still conveniently located near Lake Wallenpaupack, breweries, restaurants and hiking trails. Enjoy the easy access; convenient location and entire private property during your stay.

The cottage is located on a private dirt/stone road it’s recommended not to arrive in lower from factory vehicles.

During your stay you will enjoy the entire well-appointed private cottage with contactless self check-in.

* Winter* During snow conditions I have the road plowed to access the property. Anticipate snow during your stay and that four wheel drive will be necessary to access the cottage along with snow conditions at the property. Shovels are provided if needed. Expect snow and icy conditions.

The weather didn’t cooperate, however, your place is super awesome! Our purpose was to take my niece to see the mountains. Being from the south, she was in awe of the wildlife here. Great cabin for quiet getaway! Had everything we needed and more. Location was perfect for the lake and local breweries. Saw deer at the cabin every day. I definitely recommend this cozy and comfy cabin and will stay here again!

Great getaway

My 2 sisters and i booked this cabin as a fall foliage getaway and were not disappointed!! The Bear Den Cottage was very clean and well kept, beautifully decorated and a comfortable stay!! We will DEFINATELY plan a trip to stay next use!!!

Relax to the max

House was quiet nice little piece of property road was rough but there were big rain storms before we arrived. Houses around the property vacant very run down. Overall nice little house to hang out have a fire and be with a couple close friends. We mostly were on the lake fishing in our boat

Contacting Steve is easy, the only thing I will suggest is that they need to get new mattresses (my back still hurt from that), and they need to get those mice’s out of the house, other than that is a nice place to stay.

Very clean and quiet retreat

Steve’s place is incredibly clean and well maintained, inside and outside. The woods surrounding the house are quiet and pretty. Games and Netflix made my kids happy. Great coffee machine and accommodations pleased the adults! Will definitely return!

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. We didn’t get to fully enjoy the place because of having limited time. However, the time that we did have there was very enjoyable. The house was very nice, quaint, cozy, and comfortable. Steve was very accommodating with enabling us to check in early. We would definitely stay here again.

Our Stay at Bear Den

We enjoyed our 5 days at the Bear Den. It was very relaxing, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed using the fire pit and the grill outdoors as well. A true pleasure of the location was being surrounded by birds and bird song during out stay.

Cozy and Quiet

If you like a quiet area with deer roaming around without an apparent fear of humans, this is perfect for you! The place has been updated and feels cozy. We both like how the living room was decorated to make it feel homey. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

It was so clean with adorable touches in the home! The patio was perfect for a glass of wine in the evening. It was close to everything, but quiet and relaxing. The shower was a bit small for larger people, but beds were very comfortable. The list of places to eat and explore was really helpful! We found so many great spots to eat!
