The outside was a mess. You couldn't even sit on patio, too dirty. Hose didn't work so you couldn't wash area to sit. Nails sticking up on deck and on the steps to trip you. Inside was ok. The whole place just needed some maintenance repairs and work. A
Great location, fun condo with great outdoor space. The only issues we experienced was the lack of lighting in the kitchen and several loose and cracked tiles in the bathroom. The lack of light made it hard to cook and the tiles were noisy at night if you accidentally stepped on them. All in all a fun place to be your basecamp for a family trip to the mountains and Truckee.
The family needed a change of scenery and some much needed time outdoors. We rented this unit and were generally very pleased with the selection. We of course were concerned about cleanliness and how thoroughly the place was cleaned prior to our arrival. A quick email and response the next day from the property manager addressed the questions. Over all the place was very comfortable and as described. The building is on a slope, you do have to climb to get to the front door, the stairs up from the parking area are very narrow and dark, so we just used the side of the complex to get tot he front door. Kitchen is great, new appliances and cabinets all very clean and well kept. The 3 bedrooms are up another steep flight of stairs. There is plenty of space in the bedrooms and the teens enjoyed the bunk-bed room with its own TV. Due to Covid, we were not able to enjoy the clubhouse facilities but probably would not have spent much time there anyway. You are about 5 minutes away from Truckee and the lake, so remote but not too far. A few minor nuances that could be address, like a several light bulbs need replacing in the dining and kitchen area, perhaps a sweep through for bugs and moths. It's in need of some basic upkeep outdoors, but nothing that adversely affected our stay since we were out at Donner most of the time. We would come back and rent this unit again as it is dog friendly and met all our needs.
The house was generally good but the cleaning service hired by the rental company did a poor job.
We had to re-clean the place ourselves. Bathroom rugs in particular were disgusting. Burned out light bulbs. No lamps. Door latch broken. The rental company does not maintain it well for the owner.
This property was fine for what we were doing in Truckee. The rooms were very large and the kitchen had what we needed for basics.
Things we loved: location, size of spaces, kitchen.
There were a few things we thought could have been addressed before we arrived. The furniture and deck outside was filthy with pollen (understandably so - tis the season) but would have been nice to have a table cloth at the very least. We couldn't locate the light for the stairs so we just kept trekking up the side of the house. Keys - would have been nice to just have a lockbox onsite vs. going and picking up the keys clear across town (and dropping them off). The door doesn't close completely so you have to deadbolt yourself in. The foosball game wasn't there! We were looking forward to that for the boys.
Other than these few things, the place was just fine. =)
