The Merchants House Hotel is a wonderful hotel to stay, wonderful helpful staff. The single bedroom was nice and clean and had a wonderful selection of tv channels. The breakfast selection was lovely. Right on the door step of the old town central square with wonderful restaurants food. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who visits Tallinn.

Room was clean and spacious. The hotel is very old but well kept. the only drawback was there is no elevator. The staff was very good. the hotels location is excellent . It is very close to the main square. We really enjoyed our stay.

Old, quirky property with unconventional rooms in the building across the back of the courtyard. Ideally placed in the old town for walking everywhere. Excellent.

Quite a unique hotel, not a chain, so very friendly staff. Can’t put a finger on it, but really enjoyed my stay from the moment the receptionist gave me a map of the local area, she was full of enthusiasm and could see her love for the city Location is excellent, we booked the economy room, but ended up in a standard one; which was a nice surprise. Full of charm and character, excellent Elemis toiletries, quiet location (maybe it was the off season). Room wasn’t modern (but that’s not the point of this hotel) but was comfortable, bed was big (little too soft for me). Had a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was excellent, hot items were made to order.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at The Merchants House Hotel was nothing short of delightful. We were warmly welcomed by Angela, a lovely and attentive member of staff who set the tone for our stay. She provided us with a detailed map of Tallinn and gave excellent recommendations on what to see and where to go—such a thoughtful and helpful start! Our room was spotless and comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat after exploring the city. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with a varied menu that catered to different tastes and added a touch of indulgence to our stay. The hotel itself is steeped in history and perfectly located in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town, making it an ideal base for discovering the charm and character of the city. You truly feel immersed in the culture from the moment you step outside. Overall, we had a fantastic stay. A heartfelt thank you to the entire hotel team for their warmth, courtesy, and genuine hospitality. We’re already looking forward to returning soon!

Hotel is in a great location and the staff are really pleasant and helpfu. The breakfast was delicious. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 was the bathroom - no stand up shower, only a roll-top freestanding bath, and when in the bath tub there are no nearby shelves to place toiletries.

It was really enjoyable although we had air conditioning. Other rooms may not so check. The breakfast was wonderful and so many choices and the people working there were so friendly. Very cool how historic the place is.

It was a great experience staying at Merchants House Hotel - accommodating staff, great location (walkable to restaurants & shops) & with healthy breakfast choices (location of dining area: beautiful cozy basement). Do not forget to take advantage of the sauna located inside the hotel; it was offered to us but we didn’t get the chance.

Hospitable service over-all. The ManagerJonathan's carrying my luggage up the stairs was a nice touch. All 3 shift front desk staff were helpful and very friendly. Rich and satisfying breakfast, unbeatable location. No elevators and a bit too loud a street on weekend nights.

The Merchants House is the perfect location and its history and age adds to the experience of Tallinn Old Town. The breakfast was good with a wide selection. Margarita at reception is delightful. Friendly, helpful and with a wonderful sense of humour she made our week stay for the Song Festival a special one. Next time we hope to bring our daughter :)

In the heart of old town

Amazing location right in the heart of old town. Easy access to public transportation. Breakfast is €20 additional, but also provides a sauna. Great place to stay - recommended
