We thought being in town would be a good idea. In retrospect, what were we thinking? The traffic was a mess but We found a parking lot a couple blocks away. We could not find a restaurant anywhere that served alcohol. There was so much noise coming from the street until midnight. The staff were super nice. The hotel is very very basic and room was very very small. The shower was just on the side of the wall next to the toilet. No separate envlosure. The room did not have a refrigerator but we put beer in the frig in the breakfast room. Breakfast was good and the bread was awesome. I wouldn’t stay there again but it is not bad for the price we paid. No elevator if that’s an issue.

The hotel is located in a quiet side street (and not where the hotels.com confirmation email stated). I had to wait 5 minutes before anybody appeared at Reception. The bedroom was barely warm enough, and there was no hot water in the sink. Some of the furniture and decor has been nicely arranged. Breakfast was a simple fixed cold plate. Tatvan has plenty of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets. This is definitely at the low budget end, but it was adequate for me.

I got the bad room I guess...

Top floor under roof. The air conditioner was broken. 29 C at night. Had to poor water on bed to sleep. Very small bathroom / shower. No towel or drinking water was provided.

I stayed in Tatvan for two nights because I wanted to explore Dag caldera (about one hour’s drive from Tatvan). The hotel is located on a pedestrian street parallel to the main thoroughfare. It is central and close to the action but quiet and peaceful at night. Although it does not have private parking, there is plenty of parking space available in neighbouring streets. The staff are kind and helpful. I do not hesitate to recommend it.
