Homebase for week

Vanessa’s house is the perfect place to start and end, or spend, the day while in Taunton. I did the whole visit without a car or even a taxi. Comfortable front room for relaxing and dining, mega kitchen (7 burners, ovens, dishwasher, microwave, the works), table in the front yard and bench in the back if you want fresh air. Laundry facilities on-site, which is great for long trips/stays. I got take away one day (Blue Ocean fish and chips, a regular cod and small chips could be enough for two), but mostly cooked what I’d gotten across the pedestrian bridge at Aldi. There’s a park just a few doors down with a play area. One caution: The stairs up to the bedrooms could be steep (at least by modern US standards) if you are not agile.
