St. Croix River Home in the Heart of Taylors Falls

A great escape awaits you in beautiful, historic Taylors Falls. Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood on a dead end street and is in one of the most scenic areas of Minnesota. Operating since 2013 and lovingly cared for by Cathie & Dave, Rivertime changed hands in the spring of 2021 and new owners Danette & Bill are eager to welcome you!

This historic river home was originally built as a single story 2 room homestead by settlers in 1880. With multiple additions this beautiful 5 level home now sleeps up to 10 people comfortably.

The Interior was completely updated with special attention paid to every detail. Our home has a large main level combined living /dining room area and a lower level family room great for relaxing and watching TV. It features five bedrooms, three of the bedrooms have queen beds the two other bedrooms each have two twin beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all new stainless appliances. A laundry room is available with a new washer and dryer. You will love the large 14'x 20' screen porch and relaxing on the deck as you take in the beautiful St. Croix River.

Surrounded by a challenging variety of outdoor recreational options, the small village on the St. Croix River can keep you active and interested with its small-town charm and natural beauty. MN and WI Interstate Park are within walking distance where you can enjoy miles of hiking trails, walk through glacial gardens, canoe, kayak or rock climb. You can even enjoy the scenic beauty by taking a River Boat Tour and watch eagles soar over the river.

Other recreational opportunities in the area include Gandy Dancer Trail for biking, hiking, and running, Taylors Falls Canoe & Kayak, Festival Theatre, St. Croix Valley Golf Course, Wild Mountain Water Park, Alpine Slides, Go-Karts, and Ski Area, Trollhaugen Ski Area, Adventure Mini Golf and Drive-In, St. Croix Falls Mini Golf and Go-Karts, Fawn-Doe-Rosa Wildlife Educational Park. Franconia Sculpture Park, and many great places to eat including the ubiquitous Drive-In (best burgers around).

Four local wineries are located within minutes from our property: Wild Mountain Winery, Dancing Dragonfly Winery, Chateau St. Croix Winery, and Winehaven WInery.

Taylors Falls was named by World Atlas as one of the top ten most beautiful small towns in Minnesota: https://www.worldatlas.com/cities/10-most-beautiful-small-towns-in-minnesota.html (the list is alphabetical -- we're biased and believe we are in the top two!).

For Hazelden Betty Ford visitors, we are only a 15-minute drive away from the campus located in Center City, MN.

Summer by the river

This property served all our needs for 8 women who enjoyed the back screened in porch, barbecuing on the grill, mini golf, root beer floats at the drive-in. We plan on coming next year!

Perfect location for our family

Our teenagers' favorite thing was walking across the street for fancy coffee drinks every day. We loved that mini golf, Drive-In Burgers, the river boat, and Interstate Park's visitor center and the glacier potholes trail were all in walking distance. The space was great for us - everyone could spread out as needed, but there was plenty of room for sharing a meal and playing games (loved the well-stocked game closet and card table!) We spotted tons of wildlife near the house, including a family of deer, a woodchuck, chipmunks, red squirrels, and rabbits. It felt like we were truly immersed in nature, especially in the screened-in porch.We also spent a day at Wild Mountain a short drive up the road. It was a great deal for unlimited go karts and the alpine slide. Highly recommend a float trip from Interstate Park down to Osceola.Communication with our hosts was quick and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Location - Had everything you need!

Nice house and great location - right in town with easy walk to DriveIn restaurant and cute coffee shop right out the back door and up to the road. Great location for Wild Mountain or anything around that area. Loved the screened porch! Main level kitchen had everything you need and comfy furniture in the living room. House had two bedrooms with twin beds. One was upstairs but way too hot to use...(not their fault, it was 95 degrees for two days and not a big deal, we didn't need that room). Second set of twin beds in basement with another bath. Second level has 3 bedrooms with queens and nice bathroom. Had everything you need. Especially loved the screened porch. Great hosts and very easy to communicate with! Thanks for the hospitality!

The perfect place for our girls' weekend away

The five of us really enjoyed ourselves. The house is beautiful, roomy, and comfortable, and the kitchen well-stocked. The location right along the St. Croix River and on the main street of Taylors Falls was perfect for us. We plan to return again in the Fall.

Lovely and Peaceful

This is the fourth time that my friends and I have held our annual get-together at this lovely home away from home. In addition to its perks, such as a spacious porch, supplied kitchen, loads of games, and soft towels, the location by the St. Croix River is close to the interstate park, a coffee shop, and cute stores. Communication with the host was friendly and informative. We will be coming back.

The property was exactly as expected! Plenty of space for our group of 6 adults and 2 small children. The house was easy to access and very clean! We loved the screened in porch and large dining area. Within walking distance of restaurants and hiking trails. We also enjoyed using the stairs to get down to the river! Wonderful spot!

We came to the area for a wedding and the house was perfect for our stay. We loved the screen porch and the location. It is right in town so we walked to restaurants and mini-golf. But it’s also set off the main street so it’s quiet. Owner/property manager was easy to work with and very accommodating and welcoming!

A wonderful time again

This was our group's third annual fall visit (and we are planning another one for next fall). Everything was wonderful. We want to give an extra shout-out to the fabulous and quick response we got when we realized the coffee pot wasn't working. We so appreciate the professional, warm, and considerate care they give to their guests. We will be back!

Girlfriend Getaway

Loved loved loved this rental! So roomy and comfortable. The pictures did not do it justice. Basically lived on the large screen porch and I’ve never seen a better stocked kitchen. The six of us had more than enough room and a wonderful time. The coffee shop just up the stairs was great and the Tangled Up in Blue restaurant was a real find! We would definitely come back.

Beautiful, Spacious and Comfortable Home

This lovely home exceeded our expectations. Our group of 7 women was very comfortable staying here. There was a large dining room table that could have seated at least 10 people. A spacious screen porch at the back of the house had more than enough seating for our group. Our sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, as the home has three BRs each with a queen bed, two rooms with two twin beds each, and a sleeper sofa in another room. There were plenty of dishes, glasses and towels. Restaurants, shops, bars etc in Taylors Falls are all within walking distance. We had a couple questions when we checked in, and the the property manager was very attentive to our needs. We highly recommend this lovely home!

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting

This was the second time my friends and I gathered at this lovely home. We had a wonderful time visiting the local breweries, walking in the neighborhood, visiting the local shops, hiking along the St. Croix River, and just sitting on the screened porch playing music and games. The house is very clean and welcoming. We have decided to return again next year.
