Lake Hickory Cottage

Beautifully updated Lakefront cottage on Lake Hickory in North Carolina within an hour and a half of Charlotte, Asheville, Greensboro and Boone. The gently sloped property boasts wonderful views of Lake Hickory. Wisk away the hours on the large deck; hammock, or dock where you are sure to be entertained by the views, fish, ducks, geese, turtles, and more. The home includes 2 bedrooms - the master with a queen size bed; and the second bedroom with 2 sets of Bunk beds(3 Twin Beds and 1 full); 2 bathrooms, and large living room/dining room/kitchen great room.

You’ll love the neutral decor and the inside is fully equipped. The kitchen includes a 4 burner stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot (with coffee, filters and sweetener), pots/pans and all kitchen utensils. The oak dining room set seats 8 comfortably. There is also a cot and a pack-and-play available for additional sleepers. Also included are bedding, linens and pillows, bath towels, heat and A/C, wifi, a Roku enabled TV, laundry facilities, and a desk w/ chair and docking station with monitors. The fully equipped workstation is perfect for the digital nomad or remote worker who needs fast internet, external monitors and a desk with keyboard and mouse. Docking station connects via USB connection – ‘Pluggable USB 3.0 Universal Laptop Docking Station Dual Monitor for Windows and Mac’.

Outside the back door facing the lake you can relax on one of 4 large rocking chairs enjoying sunrises over the water; relax in the hammock at the water’s edge while reading a book; or have coffee at the picnic table on the covered front porch.

You can take a swim off the dock to cool off; go fishing in this fisherman’s paradise where you’ll find bass, crappie, catfish, striper and bluegill, or hop on one of 3 kayaks which are available for your use. Whether it's summer, spring or fall, you can always end your day around the fire pit under the moonlight roasting s'mores and sharing your adventures from the day.

When renting our Lake Hickory cottage you’ll have exclusive access to the water on 2 sides of the cottage as it sits on a small peninsula.

The Lake Hickory Cottage comfortably sleeps 8 adults - suitable for one or two small families. It’s also the perfect romantic getaway! When at our cottage you won’t ever have to leave the grounds, as all the luxuries of home are right there for you.

If you need to do some grocery shopping, or if you find you forgot something, a Dollar General convenience store is just a couple miles away. For larger grocery hauls, there are multiple options in Taylorsville and Hickory which are about a 20 minute drive from the cottage. In Hickory, you will find many of the major chains - Food Lion, Aldi’s, Sam’s Club, Target, Starbucks and more. For those who have the urge to explore or partake in some top notch eateries, Crossroads Grill and Sigmon’s Grill are just a couple of miles up the road. For those looking for a additional dining options, Hickory is full of a variety of restaurants, shops, coffee bars and art galleries. You can even catch a yoga or fitness class.

Please know that we ALWAYS change bed linens, including quilts, after every stay. In addition, our cleaning crew has undergone additional sanitizing certification to ensure all linens, surfaces, devices and furniture are disinfected.

Guest Access

We are unable to offer early check-in or late check-out. Our cleaning crew truly needs every minute between guests, so the absolute earliest you can access the property is 4 pm and check out is no later than 10 am. We appreciate your understanding.

Swimming is at your own risk. All under 18 yrs of age MUST wear a life jacket when in the water or on any dock. Many life jackets are provided, but we cannot guarantee your size will be available, so feel free to bring your own. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Water activities of any kind after dark are strictly prohibited.

Fishing is allowed from the docks on the bank of the property. Guests must provide their own bait and equipment.

Guests have access to the swimming dock equipped with a ladder and a double boat slip dock as well. Boat rentals are available minutes away and boats can be parked in the double boat covered dock if needed. There is a boat house on property that is OFF LIMITS for guests.

2-3 portioned packets of ground coffee is provided - each packet is enough for ONE full pot of coffee. Sugar & dry creamers are also provided in individual packets.

As part of our all-inclusive experience, in addition to the items noted above, you can anticipate finding paper towels/toilet paper, hand soap, s'mores skewers, stick lighter, lighter fluid and gas for the grill. All you’ll need is your food, clothes and beach towels! We’ll take care of the rest!


Other things to note….

ALL guests 18 and under MUST wear a life jacket when in the water or on a dock. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will find the large selection of life jackets in the back bench available for your use. We do our best to accommodate a variety of sizes, but cannot guarantee your size will always be available. If someone in your group is not a strong swimmer, please consider bringing your life jackets for them, to ensure they can partake in all the water activities.

NO PETS ARE ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING INSIDE. IF THIS IS DETECTED, A $200 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED.
