Avis pour Shizen Boutique Resort and Spa - In Daniel Hotel
The overall stay was fine but only because we complained about the room and were immediately upgraded to a a newly renovated suite. Going forward our stay was no longer at the shizen spa but at the main Daniel hotel. We were very grateful for the upgrade because the shizen room was dark and had a direct first floor look at the pool.
If you are looking for spa amenities and don't care about the room then you will be fine in the shizen.
The staff was very accommodating when we wanted to change our room. Although we did not have an ocean view but a city view the suite we were upgraded to was newly renovated and much more comfortable. Hopefully it's in their plans to upgrade the rest of the hotel because they did such a great job on the room we stayed in.
Breakfast was included and always great! The only downfall is that some days it took a very long time for a server to come over with coffee, and sometimes the tables were still dirty from a previous guest even after the clean up.
My wife and I stayed at the "SHIZEN" the nights of the 16th and 17th of AUGUST 2015 in Room 2210. The price I paid for these 2 nights (including BREAKFAST) was 3,567 shekel. When I originally booked, I received no indication that the included BREAKFAST, meant one being served in the crowded and rowdy atmosphere of the DANIEL DINING HALL and NOT in the usual intimacy and tranquility I once experienced and enjoyed so much at the "SHIZEN"!! I was told that the "SHIZEN" does serve breakfast, but ONLY on weekends. This was not at all consoling and is known as misrepresentation which I find discreditable if not ignoble!
Whilst conveniently located this Hotel, tucked away on the lower floors of its larger sister, The Daniel, delivers such low levels of service and cleanliness that we checked out after only one night. If a hotel thinks it can darken the corridors and adorn the bedroom in modern mood type wood and curtaining to justify a higher price they are mistaken. The furniture was damaged and the carpets stained. If that wasn't enough the bathroom hadn't been cleaned thoroughly since the last guest.
