Good job we didn’t take a cat

We had booked a Deluxe room. On first impressions it seemed fine until we went in to the bathroom. It was a shower room - fine. But it was so small that when you opened the door the only way to get to the sink was by closing the door. The loo was to the left but you had to close the door to access it. You couldn’t swing a cat in there. There were no glasses in the bathroom (not even plastic ones) and none elsewhere in the room. We asked at reception and were told it was policy not to provide glasses any more. We felt this was a less than Deluxe experience. When I asked at reception what was included in a Deluxe room as opposed to a normal room I was told “the view “ !!!!!

Few tweeks needed

Usually a 10/10 but room 205’s mattress needs updating, quite lumpy. Also service was very slow in the evening restaurant and although I enjoyed, eventually , my Caesar salad, I thought £20 was very steep for some lettuce, parmesan and croutons, the price higher because of an added £5.50 for the chicken. Nice but very overpriced- shame.

great reception, not so great wait staff

Reception staff were amazing, probably the most friendly and helpful i have ever met in stays across hundreds of hotels across the world. Restaurant staff in the evening and the morning were rude and very unhelpful, made us feel like we were a pain being there.

two day stay

We booked 2 x deluxe king rooms, on arrival the hotel informed us that they don't have deluxe king rooms. They did 'upgrade' us 'free of charge' to the room we had already paid for (so quite where the F.O.C part came in to play is a little baffling) We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal, we each had a stater, one of which was the ham with rye bread, it came with no bread and no attempt to correct this was made, we each ordered a mixed grill, when it arrived it was basically meat and chips, no salad, tomato or mushrooms, the restaurant staff said they would let the kitchen know, we where still left with half a meal. The reception staff said they would ensure we had a little extra at the table the following evening, nothing was forth coming. The robes in our room where very small, child size, so again another trip to reception. All seats around the pool where reserved with towels on them. What could have been a lovely relaxing stay turned into two days of irritatingly / irksome service. The reception staff where very polite and helpful. On check out they applied a £10 discount.

A little out of the way and had to get the hotel to put the ordered cot into the room which came at 1000 at night! The swimming pool was too cold. Apart from that everything was ok
