Property located in the heart of the National Park of Geres, elected as one of the Seven Wonders of Nature and a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. Set in a quiet and relaxing environment enjoys a unique landscape, with incredible views of the mountain. Equipped with outdoor spaces able to provide you an unforgettable stay. It has 1 suite and 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large living room with fireplace, air conditioning in all rooms, central heating and fully equipped kitchen. Outside it features a swimming pool (with support WC) barbecue and a porch.
At the same time, very close to Vila do GerĂȘs, which allows you to enjoy the thermal baths, shops, cafes and local restaurants.
In July August the minimum stay is 7 nights.

Nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour en famille 3 adultes, 4 enfant et un bĂ©bĂ© de 2 ans. La Villa est trĂšs spacieuse et confortable. L’espace piscine est amĂ©nagĂ© avec goĂ»t avec une magnifique vue sur la montagne. L’accĂšs Ă  la villa est un peu difficile mais cela permet d ĂȘtre au calme complet.

nous avons passé un séjour de 6j trÚs agréable, la météo etait là mais en plus la maison est trÚs bien équipée jusqu'au moindre accessoire de cuisine. le jardin et la vue de la maison sont magnifique. La piscine profonde de 1m40, c'est exactement ce qu'il faut pour se baigner et que les enfants puissent vraiment en profiter en toute sécurité. Une climatisation dans chaque piÚce, une bonne literie dans chaque chambre sauf dans celle de lits jumeaux qui est un peu moins confortable mais rien de bien grave. La suite est génial. Bref, je recommande vivement car les prestations et l'accueil des propriétaires est à la hauteur de ce que l'on peut attendre d'un bon séjour!! Encore merci à antonio et sa femme pour leur accueil et leur disponibilité

Beautiful secluded house in the mountains. Stunning pool surrounded by flowers and the forested hills. The house is chic in a vintage modernist style, something that the kind owners are clearly proud of and happy to share with guests. It was a good space for our party of 6 and happy times spent exploring the Parc de Geres with lakes and waterfalls. Air con worked very well when needed, the kitchen is well equipped and several spaces to sit for dining and around the house. The theme of a 'Zen" space is very appropriate; we all felt calm and peaceful in this lovely spot, and dropped down to the small town often ( especially to visit the extraordinary Hotel Universal like something from a 1950s film!)Just a note for any guests with mobility issues - the glorious pool is accessed by a steepish slope up the rear garden.A very happy vacation spent here. Thank you to Antonio and his wife.

Really helpful check in - good WhatsApp communication with Antonio which I think was needed as it is a little hard to find independently.Really relaxed and friendly owners who were obviously proud of their house (and rightly so). The important details (WiFi etc) covered as well as a tour Some of the small details were taken care off for you - for example, pool was cleaned early each morning and bin/rubbish was emptied so - just made it easier and more relaxedKitchen was good - lots of crockery and cutlery, knives, pans, etc. and the oven cooked better than our one at home(!) dishwasher was large and even the long cycle was fast - I know these details may seem small but it’s all these 1%’s that add up to a great stay. If you are a coffee pod fan, there is a Nespresso machine in the kitchenTwo small supermarkets in the village - it’s a 12 minute walk down the hill, back up was 14 minutes but there is a really steep section. You can drive if you prefer but parking was variable so sometimes walking was easier. Supermarkets open 0730 to 2000 for 7 daysReally really quiet and relaxing area. Lake beach is 10 minutes away, national park and Spanish border about 25 minutes - several waterfalls to see and incredible views everywhere We don’t go back to the same place on holiday as the world is so large, but this is one stay where we were talking about returning before we left - it was that good

Beautiful relaxing property

Excellent holiday home for a group. Plenty of sitting areas. Kitchen well equipped. Lots of towels supplied. The home was very clean. Mattresses not the best. No mirrors in bedrooms. Internet extremely slow and not available in some areas of the house. Could have used more umbrellas for shade at the pool. A car is definitely a must. Very steep incline from town back up to villa. Town of Geres about 8 minute walk. Lots of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, gift shops, bus stop for Braga. About 20 min drive to sandy beach. Lots of great walking trails. Check in is late at 5pm and very early check out at10am, basically losing almost most of a day. Antonio and his family were very welcoming and were quick to return messages. Very good hosts.

Spacious property with wonderful pool with stunning views

Wonderful spacious well equipped property on a hill above the delightful town of Geres where there are plenty of cafes and restaurants and just enough shops. The hill to the property is quite steep so a bit tough after a meal out so not advised for young children or the unfit. But this means you have a very peaceful private location and the views from the pool are stunning. The National park is beautiful but be warned the roads are windy so you may not want to travel too far once you are here. Antonio was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.

Wonderful holiday

We had a fabulous 12 nights in Geres. The house is perfectly situated with Mountain Views. Well equipped and spotlessly clean with a wonderful pool area. So many places to sit and relax and take in the tranquility. Geres has everything you need and kept two teenagers happy also. Antonio and his wife greeted us and showed us around the house and made us feel very welcomed. We would love to return.

Amazing

What a great house and environment. The house is secluded on a mountain slope, but the village, with all restaurants and shops, can be reached within 10 minutes on foot. The house is spacious and fully equipped, especially the kitchen. In the morning it is great to gaze at the mountain wall opposite the house while enjoying your first cup of coffee. The silence, peace and beauty of the house and surroundings is unparalleled.

Beautiful setting and very private

A clean, modern and well equipped property in a beautiful location. The location of the pool is unconventional which might be a problem for families with small children because if they are in the pool they are invisible from the villa. However, the planting around the pool is very attractively landscaped with great views. The short drive up a steep narrow road could prove a problem for less confident drivers. GerĂȘs is a nice village to mooch around with some shops, bakery, butcher, supermarkets, restaurants, etc. There is a park with a small boating lake. Travellers need to be aware how long it takes to drive anywhere because the the roads are so steep and winding. We didn’t want to drive more than 40 minutes in each direction every day so actually very few places are accessible in that time. Highlights for us were Bom Jesus near Braga and Portem da Homem and Sao Bento. When you are driving around there are multiple places you can stop and admire the amazing views down into the valley. Overall a great holiday.

A lovely property. the main bedroom is gorgeous but the three smaller bedrooms and bathroom are dated and need revamping with more bathroom facility upstairs to these rooms. one bathroom for three double bedrooms is not enough.

Good getaway location but Geres is quite dull

We had a very enjoyable week at the house with the family. Geres is quite dull - the shops are basic and the restaurants poor - the countryside up the hill is spectacular and swimming in the reservoir was wonderful. It's not really a base to explore as the last part of the route to Geres is quite slow. The house sort of works although the pool feels to be in the wrong place. There is no air con so the three bedrooms (which are quite small) get very warm. It was very peaceful until the local public pool start blasting music on Saturday and Sunday throughout most of the day. The owners were helpful and very responsive.

Great holiday with many possibilities to enjoy the country

We (family of 4 with two sons, aged 17 and 15 from Germany) stayed for two weeks at the end of July / beginning of August. The house is very nice and invites on the one hand to spend time here, but on the other hand is an ideal starting point for a variety of activities. In the Peneda National Park we hiked some very varied trails (the app Wikiloc has saved some good routes here, otherwise there are good suggestions on the website or in the tourist office). We have also made trips to Braga, GuimarĂŁes, Porto, Santa Cruz, the coast and the Douro Valley. The house is very well equipped and even the kids were happy with the WiFi :-). The pool is large and offers beautiful views. GerĂȘs offers several restaurants where you can eat at very reasonable prices. If you do without the car, you have will loose the calories as quickly as you eat them, because the way to the house is not long but quite steep. The morning walk to the bakery replaced in any case the jogging. But the house offers a great view, where you can enjoy the evenings with a good glass of port wine in absolute peace. Two highlights around the topic of port wine: - Lunch at Graham's Port Lodge in Porto with a fantastic view of Porto. If you want to avoid the not quite cheap food you can just enjoy a glass of port wine on the terrace. - In the Douro Valley, we visited the Sandeman Winery (Quinta de Seixo), with a magnificent view over the vineyards. Overall, a great holiday for each of us had something to offer, in a beautiful house with very nice hosts. Highly recommended, as long as you are not aiming for the classic beach holiday, but a healthy mix of activities and chill out at the pool.
