Location was fine the beds were good. It was pretty much just a place for us to sleep at night while
Front bedroom by the train tracks was terrible we must have heard 30 trains that night the second night was much better with only about three trains we had to go by ear plugs
Communication with the owner was great. It is adequate for staying in, but felt very empty and bare. I once lived in a frat house for a summer that the boys cleaned up...this had the same vibes.
Not terrible and it suited my needs for a couple of beds to lay our heads. But probably not a place to stay if you are interested in the comforts of home or amenities. The house in general is in need of some updates and basic care (the drains were very slow, the floors had a ton of wear and tear, etc).
And the trains running through the night is kind of a no-go if you are a light sleeper. It was loud and frequent.
Nice older house, bigger than we expected. Pet friendly and very accommodating for our stay.
The negatives are the train runs multiple times throughout the night, the horn blowing can be heard for several minutesâŠ.. night two we played music on our phone to kinda drown it out. I repeat it runs several times per hour, per nightâŠ..đ
Also the house is behind a very popular Bar and on Friday evening it was packed, very active area. Saturday-Sunday morning very calm.
Bottom line-it met our basic needs, but I wouldn't book it again unless I had few other options
Pros:
Prompt communication
spacious
Well air-conditioned
Off street parking
Comfortable beds
Nice furniture
Close to business district
Affordable
Cons:
Not the cleanest-at first glance it was fine, but I noticed spots on the mirrors and dust on the countertops
Almost empty soap dispensers and soap was cut with water
Trains, very close and running through the night
The lock and door are finicky. The doors appears to have been kicked in at some point, making the lock not work quite right. Several times we locked the door at night only to find it unlocked in the morning because we hadn't pushed it hard enough.
While communication was prompt, it was minimal. I received no check in info other than the passcode, which wasn't well explained until we had issues getting in.
The location of this property was right next to campus, which was nice but this is property should not be rented by anyone over 24 years of age based on cleanliness. Also, the wifi was extremely spotty, the air conditioning was not working and the towels smelled like smoke.
House was as advertised and good for our overnight stay. Beds were very comfortable. Check-in took longer than we hoped to get the lockbox code but was resolved within about 15 minutes.
The mattresses were so comfortable! I thought that I had the most comfortable beds on earth, but these mattresses--whatever brand they are, were delicious. I fell asleep almost instantly, and that almost never happens, The cleaning tasks were de nada. I would definitely come again. Such a beautiful home.
It was so easy we second guessed the booking! Property was clean and devoid of some other families' belongings. Amazing TV. Host responded quickly and courteously. My only negative was the three or four trains that passed each night. Arg! We all kept waking up. If you are from the city, you will love it. We are from the quiet countryside so too many night noises to sleep. No worries though, who sle we ps pop n vacation as anyway. Lol
