Lake Tawakoni House

Come get your Hillbilly on.
This little rustic house has lots of charm (Not your Sheraton). . The house has a private shaded backyard with large trees, large fire pit, lawn chairs, hammock, picnic tables, games, provides a fun place for kids & adults to play (Outdoor games provided), (Two outdoor grills provided). The frontyard has large trees and a garden/goldfish pond with a fountain, makes walking around the house a treat while drinking your morning coffee. Enjoy rocking chairs or benches inside screened porches. Front & backyard are fenced in for pets. Very well heated and cooled for year-round lodging. Free Internet, Ruko TV/movies, DVD's, Wifi speaker, ATARI video games & work place desk. This lake front property is walking distance to the community park that has, a large fishing dock, boat slip and swimming area, (Boats, Kayaks, canoes & meeting hall for rent). Lake Tawakoni State park is near by. You can also visit flea markets & antique shops in the area. Ham Orchards (Peach farms) & Canton flea mkt is a must see.

We have a 16 foot, 3 person canoe, a 16 foot, 4 person Jon boat and a 20 foot pontoon boat for rent. We also rent fishing Kayaks, bikes, and fishing poles on request.. We also provide cut firewood & charcoal on request. There is an extra charge for the Hot tub.
Weekly, Monthly & veterans bookings welcome at a discount.

Came in for an overnight stay during a bass tournament. Was able to park boat next door behind locked gate. People were nice. Overall pretty clean.we were there just long enough to rest before tournament.

Comfy and Cozy

Stayed here with four teenage girls for a birthday slumber party. The house was cozy, comfortable and clean. The kids had a good time and there were a lot of games available for them to play. The neighhood was quiet and felt safe. The owner was very nice and very helpful. Would recommend. Thank You 😊

Enjoyable

We had a bad fishing weekend because of the wind,but the house is stocked with everything I was told. It's very quiet. Very clean. Fire pit, charcoal grill, gas grill. Plenty of indoor and outdoor furniture. We had six men take a shower all in a row and never ran out of hot water. Those are what I care about. Two thumbs up.

Relaxing getaway

We had a relaxing couple of days here - enjoyed the games, Frisbee by the lake, fire pit etc. The owner has definitely made updates in most of the rooms but not all. If it's chilly, be prepared that one restroom is off the front porch (but has a heater in it). The upper deck above the house was a treat for the kids.

Scenic and Great Getaway

Weekend stay was perfect for breaking away from society with family and spend time grilling, games, and outdoors! Ben was great on recommending activites and making sure we had everything needed! Highly recommend!

Quiet GetAway

We enjoyed the quiet relaxing atmosphere of the backyard. It is private and the outdoor area is a great place to hang out and let the pets run free. There is covered parking, two screened porches with a swing and rocker on the front porch. It was lovely listening to the song birds as we sat outside, beside a fire watching our dogs play in the leaves. The house is cozy and the bathroom is updated. The kitchen has all the utencils needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wish we could have stayed longer. Ben is a great host who is easily reached and responds quickly to text and phone messages. He was very helpful and accomodating, helping us to schedule our weekend getaway. When we return to the Lake Tawakoni area we will surely look to see if this property is available. It is affordable, we give it two thumbs up!! Thanks Ben!! God Bless!!

Great little house

Had a great time, house was perfect! no its nothing fancy which was perfect as we spent most of our time on the lake or in the back yard. house had everything needed to make our stay e joyable without having to bring our whole kitchen of go to the store to buy stuff. to top it all off Ben was amazing! called the morning of with the instructions and a list of things to do on or near the lake! also had a great selection of DVDs to watch

Grandma's house

Nothing pretentious in the property's description. If you don't find something here 'like' at your Grandma's house at Ben's property then I'm so so so sorry for you. Everything isn't for everybody so if this isn't your cup of tea I was taught by my mother and grandmother 'if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all, they'd say shut your mouth. But again the description says it, it is what it is!!??!. Communication with the property owner was wonderfully easy, timely and enjoyable. To sum up our stay I Googled it LOLHehe "" nos·tal·gia"" a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. "I was overcome with acute nostalgia for my days 'OF SITTING ON A SCREENED IN PORCH'!!!! Thanks for the experience. And oh by the way, the fishing anywhere at Tawakani is always great, even when we don't catch anything. See ya again soon.

Fish hut

The property is a fishing hut and is great for that! But my family is a more bogie then this place. The property needs a bit of fixing up, the ceiling is hanging down over the tv area. One bed was broken bathroom vanity was broken just needs bit of work and repairs. Owner was super nice and left water and snacks for us. So I can't say it's extremely bad but not our up of tea.

HORRIBLE! MOLD! FILTHY!

We were not even able to stay at property due to the MOLD, the grass was grown up, spider webs everywhere, we had to knock them down to even get inside the house. The KOI Pond was empty and full of dirt and leaves and NO fish like described. There was no Sodas or waters in the fridge like was mentioned. Dust was so thick on everything, This house was not stayable. Contacted the owner and he is not professional at all, he laughed about the situation. He ended up only refunding not even half of our payment, even though we had to leave and find a hotel room cause it was so bad, we werent even at the house for 20 minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE!!!!
