I want to be very fair in the review. First, the good. The property is picturesque and quite nice. The room was very large and clean. The staff was friendly. The. location was good. Less than 1 mk from town, but still far enough to be quiet and out of the way. Felt very secure leaving our vehicle outside. Now, the downside. Even though the listing shows amenities like bars and restaurants. They were completely unavailable. We specifically asked for coffee service in the early morning so we could check out an be on the road, and were told we had to drive back in to town if we wanted anything before 9 am. I asked for another towel so i could shower once at night, and once in the morning with a fresh towel, and it was refused. We had to notify them 10 minutes before we wanted hot water. The water was not hot, but it was warm enough to shower without being too cold. Only two avaliable outlets in the entire room, and none near the desk. WIFI was very weak. Do NOT come here to work remotely! Overall, a nice place, and despite my frutration, I would recommend the hotel during a visit to Tlalpujahua, just be aware that the amenities listed arent readily available.

We were very glad to have Eric as a guest he was at every point very polite and joyful. And we are very thankful for his kinds comments. We are terrible sorry about the issues that you had during your stay. In this part we are going to take in highly consideration every single thing that you had mention in order for us to improve and solve this issue to welcome you in a near future again and provide you with everything that you need and deserve. At this point is important to mention, without any excuse or apologizing in or behalf because we are responsible for miss comunicating our guest. We have a business center with iMacs on the back of the pool deck and desks with Starlink Wifi High speed internet connection. We are sorry we didn’t mention this to you it was our fault. Also, when any of our guest is checked in at the front desk, our concierge is supposed to ask for a WhatsApp number contact from our guests, to provide them with this information, our services, a pdf restaurant menu to order food or drinks, in the concept dark kitchen and room service. The meals are handle and deliver to our guest to the door of their rooms. And they can request for anything via WhatsApp from 9 am till 10 pm. Our Dark Kitchen Restaurant Frida, provides attention via WhatsApp, that’s why it is important for us, to request a contact number during their checkin. We also can serve the food in the stone tables in the pool deck or in the marble tables in the upper lobby witch has a very nice view to the mountains and garden. Frida also provides drinks with alcohol that can be serve in the upper lobby lounge area. Regarding the coffe we are going to review more carefully what happen with this point. Our staff is instructed to serve a coffee break in the lobby in between 8:30 am and 12, with American coffee an basquets of sweet bread available for our guests. We are very sorry to have a poor communication with you Erick and we are going to work to offer you a better and comfortable service in your next visit. Hoping to welcome you again, thanks again for you feedback.

We booked this hotel for 5 nights; however, missed the first night due to my husband's flight arrival in Mexico City delayed arrival. It was too late to drive the 3.5 hours to Tlalpujahua. The hotel was very accommodating and there was no problem arriving a day late. Upon arrival, we noticed that it was extremely quiet. It turns out there were only 3 guests (including us). The hotel room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only complaint we had was that they turned off the hot water in the evening so a few times we ended up with cold showers. We notified the hotel staff and they did turn on the hot water so we could take showers. Other than that, the hotel was comfortable and nice.

Good but rough

Excellent place to spend some vacations close to the Mariposa Reserve. The fact that a Frenchman had been abducted close-by kind of made us more awrae of our environment! Not able to get wi-fi in our room (Room number 6)

The hotel itself was very nice. It is very convenient to get to the butterfly sanctuary Sierra Chincua as well as the Pueblos Mágicos of Tlalpujahua and El Oro de Hidalgo. As others have posted, the restaurant was closed and there was no hot water in the evening.

Depends of purpose of your trip

Bathroom needed better lighting - very dark. The restaurant is not always open but because they had two parties visiting as a launching point for the butterflies, they did open the restaurant for dinner and breakfast (although pricier than typical prices for these meals - not outrageous by any means when compared to North American prices). It took 2 hours to get from here to the El Rosario Reserve so I'd pick a closer town if time is an issue. If it isn't, this was a very pleasant stay. Nicely maintained grounds. Quiet and peaceful.

Close to a quaint Mexican village with nice shops,

Overall very nice. Close to the Monarch Butterfly migration, wonderful. Hotel could improve with more heat in the winter, more AC plugs to recharges our phones and cameras, and open a cafe or restaurant. Otherwise, nice grounds, and friendly staff. Peaceful being some blocks from town, yet close enough to enjoy the Mexican culture.
