Great stay at a great location/house.
Publié le 22 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayMy brother and I took our father away for his birthday and we had a great time. Nick and Jill were great and very responsive with any questions that we had. The house was great and we spent a lot of time enjoying the lake and exploring the surrounding area. Overall a very fun and relaxing week!

Camp Weekend
Publié le 14 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThe check in process was BRUTAL, the property was nice, but not much privacy with neighbors 10’ away on both sides. My kids first comment upon entering was that the place smells like cigarettes. We left the next morning and drove home instead of completing the weekend.

Shawn, We are so surprised and disappointed by your review. We wish you would've let us know about any concerns you had. There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the house. The smell was probably because we have a real wood burning fireplace and not a gas fireplace. The houses are on a a quarter of an acre and about 40 ft. apart as our pictures and video show. We are in a gated community just like most of the other lake houses in the Poconos and guests need to check in at the welcome center to get a gate pass. I can't fathom how that could be termed "Brutal." Although it may be a bit inconvenient, it is only done once during your stay. You said the property was nice. We take great care in maintaining our property including having the same cleaning service for 16 years. We have many return guests and excellent reviews as you can see. We are truly sorry you had a bad experience and wish you luck with your next getaway. Sincerely, Nick and Jill

Cozy and Warm
Publié le 22 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayStayed here with family, place was warm and cozy. firewood was fully stocked and came in handily. Enough space for all of us. Description of home was very accurate, and homeowners were more than helpful to all our needs and responded very quickly to all our questions. I def will be staying here again!!

January Weekend
Publié le 29 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayHouse was a good size for two adults, a teenager and a small dog. Dog-friendly rentals can be hit or miss but this one was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed looking out on the frozen lake sitting by the fire. Location of house is a bit of a drive from the gate to the community, but it was fine as we weren't going in and out very much and it was worth it for the quiet street and lakefront property.

Fall Getaway
Publié le 16 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayStarted out with a bump! Got there and there was no running water. Had to call owner and he had to call water company. So I had to wait for them to arrive and figure out the problem and of course could not use the bathroom. Took a bit but problem resolved. I have used VRBO 3 times now and each time there was a problem at the property. Last time got a cabin with a hot tub that didn't work. Owner said would get fixed but of course was not. Little things can really put a damper on a trip. Hopefully next time ALL will be good.

We're sorry you were without water for 45 minutes. We immediately called Penn American Water and they had a guy there in less than 45 minutes. He tapped some regulating valve and you were good to go. Also, you could use the toilets(2), but you would only get one flush until the water was fixed. Still not sure what someone else's hot tub not working has to do with our review.

Staying at a lake
Publié le 1 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis particular lake was quite unique because it was extremely shallow. It was perfect for young children who are just learning to swim. No motor boats are allowed or sailboats. The lake accommodates rowboats (with small electric motors), kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, paddle boats. Without the noise of motorboats, the lake is so peaceful and serene.

Ann, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you found the lake peaceful and serene. While it is shallow at the waters edge, the depth in the middle is about 30 feet. It is true that motorboats aren’t allowed. However sail boats are allowed.

Great Pocono lake getaway
Publié le 11 août 2023 sur HomeAwayNice and homey, clean and functional. Great for a family fishing trip getaway at the Poconos. The "Welcome Center" process was a little tedious and unexpected (Friday around 5 PM), but you only have to do it once. We found almost everything we needed in the home. You have to bring your own sheets and towels.

We were surprised to hear about the wait at the Welcome Center. But I guess it’s to be expected during the summer. Fortunately as you said, it’s a one time thing and keeps the community pool and beach from getting crowded since only those who are registered can use the facilities.

Restful Week at the Lake

We "just" happened to have a week when the moon was full which provided an extra special display of God's creation at night.
Fishing, swimming, relaxing, games at night - just good family time.

Not sure what you mean by the place needs TLC. We wish you would've notified us of any concerns during your stay so we could've taken care of them for you or at least been more explicit in your review. We have many repeat guests and many great reviews so we are very sorry to see such a low rating and a very limited review with no content.
