Hot Tub, Views, Romantic Outdoor Lounge Area
Have it both ways with the Tiny Cabin-a retreat in nature AND a 5 minute walk to historic downtown Todd or 15 to 20 minutes to downtown Boone and W.Jefferson. Enjoy the well appointed Tiny Cabin and the private (only for you!) 500sq ft screened in lounge, with private access to a hot tub, fire table , dining nook, and yoga/workout area. Cook meals in the cabin's full kitchen or in the outdoor grilling area. Read a book in the hammock garden. Relax and refresh while experiencing the joy of tiny cabin living!
The Tiny Cabin was designed and built with the vision for simple yet comfortable living that supports a deep connection with nature and a smaller footprint on the planet. The meticulously designed 360 square foot Tiny Cabin makes use of every inch and lacks for nothing.
With the small interior footprint, the majority of the space is dedicated to two truly magical outdoor areas. The private screened in Canopy Lounge among the trees with winter views of the mountains is equipped with a hot tub, dining area, fire pit, yoga/work out space, and seating area to relax and enjoy nature in. The grilling space is located in the patio just outside the Canopy Lounge. On the other side of the Lounge, you will find a quartz rock surrounded outdoor shower (available during warm months) and a short path up the hill takes you to the private hammock garden where you can enjoy a good book, take a nap, or enjoy the view of the trees. You can expect to see birds, deer, and other wildlife about while you enjoy the outdoors.
The Tiny Cabin itself was built with all the essentials and packaged into a cozy, comfortable, and retreat-like space. With an emphasis on sustainability, the Cabin is powered from the local community solar garden and guests can reduce waste by recycling and composting on the property. Tall ceilings, ample windows, a fully equipped kitchen, a high end bathroom, a convertible working/dining area, and a comfy sleeping space with cozy sheets are a few of the features. Log in to your video streaming accounts and enjoy a movie while relaxing after a day of exploring. A complete coffee and tea bar, along with luxury shampoos/soaps are just a few of the other amenities provided.
The overall experience was nice. The tiny house concept is neat and we loved the hot tub area especially. Things we were disappointed in was the stove, apparently has been an issue for quite awhile based on other reviews, the fan for upstairs was broken which made it difficult to regulate temp and there was evidence that it was not cleaned very well from prior stays. Hosts left so many notes for instructions, it would have been helpful to mention the way to light the stove, which would still have been nerve wracking. We love the Mountains of NC and hope to return soon.
Awesome time. We still werenât able to use the oven as we tried to light with lighter but wouldnât come on on. Would recommend paving the drive at some point. I have a 4 wheel drive truck and it struggled slightly going up. Overall the cabin and shelter with hot tub was out go to for hanging out and enjoying the quietness and scenery. Would stay here again!
I had high hopes for this cabin when I looked at the pictures. The road up to the cabin is narrow and steep, even with a Ford Bronco it was hard to get up and see where you were going in the dark. When I arrived, there were no lights on the outside and had to use a flashlight to get into the door. On first arrival, there were dead ants all over the kitchen floor and the heat was set to 82 degrees. I found live ants all over the home. The stove top did not light and would not work. The owners were responsive and gave instructions on how to light the stove using a lighter, but I was not comfortable doing that. They offered to come spray for ants and set traps, but I was not comfortable with that while I was staying there. The upstairs where the bed is located stayed very warm since the AC unit was downstairs, so if you set the AC to a comfortable setting upstairs by the time you went downstairs to use the bathroom it was freezing. The outside area was nice and well done. However, given the issues I encountered, I would not recommend choosing this location in the future.
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean. We took day trips to explore the area. Relaxed in the hot tub which was amazing after a day of outing. The only thing I could suggest is maybe some roll up blinds for the outdoor space, we could not really enjoy the area due to the wind and rain. That was the part of the property we were mostly looking forward to. Overall great stay. When my wife first read about the property it had stated coffee bar, bottle of wine and organic chocolates. Coffee bar consisted of ground coffee for a french press, no wine and no chocolates. Also the only TV was in the bedroom and unfortunately we do not believe in tv's in our bedroom, not that we even watched much of it.
The house was great!! Super clean and really nice inside. And the screened addition outside was fantastic and very relaxing. Really great stay.
Only negative was hosts didn't reply to 2 emails I sent before our trip asking for some information about the area. But that didn't affect my opinion on the property at all
