We escaped for thanksgiving with family. The cabin had plenty of space for the family, from sitting to sleeping. The master bedroom was cold due. It has an electric heater but it doesn’t warm the room up. The kitchen has everything we needed to prepare our meals. You have zero phone service, if it wasn’t for WiFi you would be able to communicate. In the event of an emergency, you hope WiFi calling works or you are not getting help. Would probably come back again.

The cabin was cute, clean and well appointed BUT the cabin I booked and received confirmation on and the cabin I actually got access to and stayed in was TOTALLY different and not in a good way. I’m a full time caregiver to my elderly mother and not having WiFi made me VERY uncomfortable. The instructions for the respite staff were all sent in advance and my mother who has dementia would not have been able to reach me if she needed to. There was a land line available but that’s not a realistic option for her to have a new number to try to contact me. The bedrooms were all upstairs which was problematic for me with a torn meniscus and bad back. Also the one I booked had onsite laundry. We were also expected to dispose of our garbage 3 miles away. The rental company was helpful getting us instructions on how to light the gas fireplace which were awaiting us when we returned for night 2. It wasn’t BAD, it just wasn’t what I rented.

Lovely place in the mountains

We really enjoyed the property. Unfortunately there was a problem with the community water supply and half way through the trip the management company offered to move us to one of the other properties. The area is beautiful, roads are tough to get up but we got the hang of it The outdoor space was great. Beautiful views. Bedrooms on every level. We were there during a "heat wave" and the AC was having a hard time keeping the common area cool but I doubt that is an issue most of the year. We are from South Florida so I will never complain that 79 is too warm. I cannot say enough good things about the management company and the amenities they provide in the area. We also rented a pontoon boat from them and had an amazing day on the lake seeing the views from a different perspective.

Our Family was so grateful to be staying at the Flying Squirrel Cabin. Feeling one with nature is such a great vibe. The mountains and lake were breathtaking, and it's awesome that the flying squirrel cabin felt like a home away from home. Our family loved making new memories, like seeing snow for the first time, making s’more, sitting by at the fire-pit and talking by the fireplace. Thank you for everything. The Valeriano family.
