Mount Rose Cottage, 73 Hartop Road, Torquay, Babbacombe/St Marychurch
Mount Rose is a lovely three hundred year old fully refurnished cottage with a walled garden (nice and safe for the kids) close to the sea, beaches, South West Coastal path, shops, pubs and restaurants of St Marychurch and Babbacombe. It's only a ten minute walk away from magnificent Babbacombe Downs and the train/ lift down to Oddicombe Beach.
The quaint cottage is surprisingly spacious with a large fully equipped family kitchen , a cosy lounge, two bathrooms; one downstairs with a bath â ideal for children â and one upstairs with a shower. The two bedrooms are spacious and have new beds; one with a double bed, and the other with two single beds. All beds have good mattresses that are intended to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Downstairs in the lounge there is a sofa bed, with a good pull out double bed.
The house is furnished to a high standard giving the comforts of new with the charm of old.
Parking is free on the road on which the house is situated. The bus stop to take you downtown to Torquay harbour is 30 metres from the house, and it takes 12 minutes to get to the harbour.
Hanburyâs award winning (best 5 in country) fish & chip shop within walking distance.
Please note that WiFi is not provided. A deliberate choice to ensure a peaceful break. Thereâs always 4G if you really need it.
Fantastic property with lots of facilities especially in the kitchen. Much more than many rentals. Check in was very easy and Hazel was there to greet us. Only thing lets it down was parking which was made worse by the road being closed due to gas works
We loved our stay and felt âso at homeâ at the cottage which was cosy, well-furnished and well equipped. Communication was excellent and the host was very helpful.
Cottage location perfect, as close to our sonâs home - enabling us to easily commute, whilst also having space. Met by local contact on arrival, who was friendly and helpful. Practical having extra downstairs bathroom and stone floor in kitchen with a toddler around!Main problem in the area is parking, but luckily we were aware of this having visited our son in Torquay. Need to be prepared though! Generally the property suited our needs on this occasion.
The cottage is very beautiful, renovated with much taste, spotless clean. Everything that you might need is there. It is a short walk to the coastal path, a little shop just around the corner and you are in walking distance to Babbacombe!
