Property is within a private road, with very limited access to visitors. There are a couple of visitors' parking spaces, but those were occupied when I arrived, so I had to park in the nearby public car park. This was free after 6pm, but I had to leave before 9am the next morning to avoid being charged for parking. Other than that, my stay was fine - room was clean and comfortable, and shared bathroom was not an issue, as I think I was the only guest that night.
We felt that the room was not cleaned properly, we found hairs on the bedding and in the bathroom, more attention needed, the room was light and airy, basic provisions of fridge, shared bathroom although we didnât see any other guests when we stayed.
I booked at 3pm and arrived after 6pm but no one was there. I had not received any correspondence so i phoned them. They hadn't checked so didn't know i was coming and the room was not ready. They made their way to the apartment while I waited in my car, and 'cleaned' it. The cleaning took less than 5 minutes, which I found worrying. It certainly hadn't been vacuumed. I also wasn't aware that it was a shared bathroom when I booked. Disappointing.
I made a bit of a mistake when booking and didnât realise that the bathroom was shared with another room. I contacted the owner who was brilliant. He came to see us and after realising that the stairs were also a problem for me, he offered us a full refund and also advised us of other places that we could stay.
Owner was fantastic.
On the night of the 17th July I stayed at this property. The hotels .com booking stated Iâd have the entire place to myself and still does as of the 10th August 2023. I woke up in the night to a naked, urinating, clearly intoxicated man next to my head in my bedroom. I jumped out of the bed as the man got in and fell asleep.
The landlord came over and dealt with this, giving me the drunk manâs room key and swapping our belongings between the rooms. I was also given a full refund and free cancellation for my upcoming stay. I do appreciate how this was handled but I informed the landlord of the mistake on the hotels .com listing and this has not been changed.
It is unacceptable for people to book a property not knowing there will be others sharing the space and not having the full information to keep themselves safe. I am very lucky that nothing worse happened.
I had a very warm and friendly welcome---Good food--lovely bedroom/bathroom/T/V-helpful staff. All I needed for my stay--I hope to stay there again sometime. Thank you all for being so nice. Mrs Barber.
A great place in a great location if you have reason to be in Tring. It would have been useful to have had the exact address, as I spent 45 minutes or so looking to find it. Still, I'd stay again.
Very difficult to find. Address is actually 8, Brook Mews, (a modern development of small terraced houses in what looks to have been a pub car park.), not Brook Street. A neighbour pointed the way and suggested that the keys might be found at the nearby pub.
The hosts were very welcoming. Everything was spotless and the bed really comfy.
We were staying for a wedding nearby and the location was perfect.
Thanks very much.
This property was very clean and fresh, nicely situated and suited our needs, we would highly recommend to anyone going to that area, great value for money, ideal for a family of four as we were.
It was very close to the shoping Street. It was also in a quiet spot. The only little downside was the shared bathroom, although we did not have any problem.
Nice small and cozy place. First day the wifi service wasn't working but it was fixed on Tuesday. The location it's quite good: just near Robin Hood's pub, 5 minutes to Tescos and 5-6 mins to the Natural History Museum.
NOTE: Bathroom needs some hooks to hang towels and clothes. In the ground floor room just a small a single clock it's enough ;-).
If the kitchen becomes available it'll we a great plus.
