Posada Lamar Tulum is located directly on a beautiful stretch of Tulum beach where swimming is fine. There are lounge chairs and day beds for guests; and massage services on site. There's also an inviting pool for quick dips. At night, from my room (Esmeralda) I could hear the waves crashing at night. In the morning, staff brings your continental breakfast with strong coffee and fresh fruit right to your door. My bed was comfortable and I appreciated the mosquito netting. Thanks to Adriana at the front desk for her hospitality; all the staff were extra-friendly and helpful. I felt they really cared about the guests. The air conditioning only operates during nighttime hours--keep that in mind during the warmer months. It wasn't a problem in January. The hotel has a septic system (as do most hotels and restaurants on the beach in Tulum) so that might be a consideration if you're the delicate type. My shower had strong water pressure, which was great. The location is close to many restaurants and clubs. There's a limited sidewalk so I wouldn't recommend trying to walk anywhere far due to the narrow main road and traffic. Posada Lamar has a sister property the Comoran, with its own private cenote. Guests can visit the cenote which is not to be missed and a highlight of my visit to Tulum. Overall the Posada Lamar is in tune with Tulum's unique vibes and setting.
