There is no fresh water at this hotel, all the water coming out of the taps, sink, and shower is salt water which destroys your skin This hotel did not have complimentary water and charged 150 pesos per 500ML bottle. Absolutely terrible considering there is no fresh water coming out of any of the taps. There were also an insane amount of mosquitos and other bugs inside the unit. On a positive note, the furniture and aesthetic of the room were very nice.

An amazing stay

The stay was amazing top to bottom. From the clean spacious room to the view over looking the pool. There’s a cleaning lady that comes in every morning to keep everything clean. The receptionist was super nice and called a cab for us everytime we went out. Would highly recommend this place as it’s in the perfect area if you want to travel to the beach or go to the city

Great experience

Our room was 303(-A). We had our own swimming pool at the top, the place is clean and large. To us, the location was fine, our tours picked us right at the hotel_when it was “Mexico Kan Tours” or at a supermarket called “Super Aki”, when “Sat Mexico tours” took care of it. It’s only 10min away from Watal, by car (200 pesos with a taxi). Watal is connected to another hotel, “Copal Tulum”, they face each other. This is where the two main restaurants are. Japanese at the top or European/ Mexican in the bottom. The food is really delicious.

Our stay was good we stayed for 3 nights. We found it odd that the toilet would not flush at times and then randomly would start working but we stayed in an apartment and it was great. The apartment was very spacious and provided mostly everything.

Watal Hotel Tulum

I stayed at the Watal hotel for 3 days on a solo trip. I had an apartment room with kitchen and dining area on the first floor with a patio that includes a private pool and full access to the main pool. All rooms are very spacious & they have security at the front of the hotel mostly 24/7 that has a key code to enter. I loved my apartment room & having full access to the sister hotel Copal amenities. I loved the layout of the whole apartment especially the bedroom. Front desk is mainly there and you can access them by going there or through WhatsApp. I had a few issues such as … since it’s in the jungle it gets very hot & humid if you don’t have the fan and/or ac on at all times. The shower pressure for hot is very weak but it’s get hot. The bathroom didn’t have a bright light on top of the mirror so it’s hard to take pictures in there. There was also a raw sewage smell coming from the toilet on my last two days that was very strong. The shower floor didn’t look that clean/new to me so, I wore flip flops when showering. The private pool only has one temperature which is cold and the patio chairs were dirty. The Wi-Fi is very slow on iPhones but good for the most part when using tv to watch Netflix, YouTube etc. It was hard sometimes to ask questions/information due to majority of the hotel speaks only Spanish & the one person that does speak English he would mostly redirect me to the sister company Copal hotel for further assistance. My stay was good for the most part.

Amazing hotel, excellent friendly staff

I stayed here for 3 nights and from start to finish had a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, (especially Ismael and Andres). The room was clean, there was an issue with the toilet but they fixed it immediately. We also got use of the hotel opposite (Copal) which had a lovely pool area and excellent restaurant which served a great breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location is in a good spot in the town, having a rental car is useful in Tulum in general. Overall I can’t fault anything about this hotel and would love to return. Massive thank you to the staff for making our stay so amazing
