This location needs renovating. The room furniture looks like it has not been updated in decades. The elevator was dimly lit, hall garbage overflowing. Upon arrival, I noticed that the drinking glasses were not clean, closet door off the hinge, what looked to be mildew at the base of the shower, and a VERY dusty air vent in the bathroom (reachable by anyone due to low ceiling). Over my multiple-day stay the bed was not made - although service was requested (at booking and in person). I had to request toilet paper and towels from service personnel (since the bed was not made, I wasn't sure if the towels would be changed). After receiving the towels, one had a large hole in it. Full service was requested to the front desk multiple time for my room, and the rooms of the group I was with. It wasn't provided. When we expressed our concerns to the front desk, we were met with endless excuses, and very unprofessional cleaning staff, one of which stomped and yelled about how she was quitting. We weren't allowed to speak to the manager on duty (stated that he didn't speak to customers). Upon return to our rooms, we found the cleaning staff making up the beds. It was 7pm at night!!! Staff frequently smoked at the front entrance and were on cell phones. I will certainly think twice about booking with the Marriott brand again, due to this experience. I can assure all that I will not ever again book a stay at this location (Courtyard Tuscaloosa).
