Beach-Chic Apt. for Two - SLEEP NUMBER BED - Porch Rockers - Short Walk to Beach

UPSTAIRS / The tastefully-decorated newly-renovated, Tybee Time apartment has a complete kitchen with stainless appliances combined with the attractive living area that features a full sized sleeper sofa for a plus one. This bed is not suitable for anyone over 6'. Two barrel-shaped, comfortable red sitting chairs are made for relaxing, reading or watching television, which has DVD capabilities. The bedroom accommodates a queen size Sleep Number bed with adjustable firmness mattress. A spacious closet with shelves, suitcase stand and coat racks provide plenty of space for clothing and personal items. The screened porch has two comfortable red rocking chairs that are just right for a relaxing finish to your day in the sun. An energy efficient, ultra quiet Mitsubishi heat pump AC/heat unit offers plenty of heat during cold months and plenty of cold air conditioning in the summer. Ceiling fans inside and on the porch gently move the air as well.

This apartment is just right for a couple or a couple with a small child or two adults and a close friend who doesn't mind sleeping on the sleeper sofa. The downstairs apartment may also be rented to allow for plenty of room for family and friends.

On the south facing wall is an incredibly beautiful ocean life mural designed and painted by world renowned artist Mary Jane Volkmann who was assisted by owner Cathy J. Sakas. On the front of the cottage the sassy Octopus watches over her Lair.

Our nightly rates vary with the seasons and include a two-night minimum, plus hotel/motel taxes & fees (see rates). Discounted weekly and monthly rentals are also available.

We enjoyed our stay at "The Lair" on Tybee. It was close to everything we were interested in doing, including a fairly short drive into Savannah. Tybee has a very laid back feel and was pretty quiet while we were there. The "lair" was comfortable and had a good selection of dishes, etc. for cooking. We loved the porch in the evenings. The unit was very clean but there was an interesting scent coming from the rug in the kitchen. My guess is that the former guest spilled something (milk?) and it wasn't obvious until later after it was cleaned. Host was awesome and checked up on us multiple times. While there, the washing machine had broken and it was replaced the next morning. I would recommend this location.

This was about 5 blocks from beach. Everything seemed dated but for the price it was worth it. It was cheaper than anything else and it suited our needs. If you want high end this is not the place for you. If you want a functional clean place that is worth the money, this is perfect. Cathy will respond quickly if there are any questions. There is no bbq grill which disappointed us but it is also not allowed. Rules are rules. We didn’t care for the sleep number bed and it was to far from the beach for us to walk and take all our junk. Other than that, it was a good rental for us

Cathy's Octopus Lair is adorable. The space is clean, well-maintained, and filled with cute marine trinkets. The covered porch and rocking chairs are perfect for just relaxing in the shade and watching the local animals. The coolest thing happened. An osprey has moved in to the trees, and has been hanging out. You can hear it call, especially in the morning and evening.

Great getaway on Tybee Island

My wife and I spent 4th of July weekend at the Lair and we had such a a great time! Our host, Cathy, was amazing and gave us great information about the area and the check in process was so simple. The apartment was very clean, and had plenty of space. It is conviniently located close to the beach access and so many great restaurants and shops. Much needed getaway
