Mill Street Suite
Situated right in the heart of downtown Utica! This upstairs loft suite is beautiful and right above one of Uticaâs best known restaurants Skoogs Pub and Grill. Walk out the door and you are steps from restaurants, shops, museums, bars, and so much more. No car needed to explore this great historic town! You will have access to bicycle rentals to bike to Starved Rock State Park as well and that can be set up for you! The space Tell us why you are visiting and we will accommodate for a special occasion or event!
A great place to stay. Very clean and well kept. My wife used the word 'elegant' to describe the suite. The living area, bathroom, tub/shower, and bed were all top notch! Conveniently located right in town and close by to several beautiful State Parks in the area. Downtown Utica was great and all the local business were very accommodating and friendly. You are seconds away from several restaurants, wineries, breweries, and shopping. We look forward to going back. Access and communication was good also.
Excellent location. Above restaurant/bar but noise not an issue. Comfortable bed & large sectional. More of a studio since no separate room for bed. Must carry luggage up stairs. Large whirlpool tub/shower was running out of hot water before jets could be run in tub. Nice that basic condiments (spices, oils, sugar/flour) & coffee furnished No dishwasher but an apartment sized fridge in addition to reg. refrigerator was out of place, along with dated stove. That being said was a perfect place to stay downtown & would recommend
The property was nice and looks like photos. It was a good place to stay while near Starved Rock. It may have been due to our last minute booking, but we did not receive info from the host regarding check in / check out procedure and wifi access prior to our arrival. However, the host was quick to respond when info was requested.
Perfect location right in the middle of downtown. The apartment was well equipped with all the essentials. Super clean and the extra comfy bed made for a wonderful, relaxing stay.
Everything was great! There was a fun block party and live band playing in the streets below and my husband and I were worried there would be too much noise, but it was really quiet. Cute, walkable neighborhood with lots of dining and local shops.
Mill Street Suite was very charming and had everything we needed. The location was ideal for our hiking expeditions and so convenient to go downstairs and grab a good meal. Would highly recommend this place.
The Mill Street Suite was perfect for a short getaway. We really enjoy Uticaâs small town charm and offerings. We were able to enjoy a relaxing afternoon on Mill Street, a nice dinner and a hike at Starved Rock.
Let me say that this may be one of the better rooms to rent in the area, And it is clean and pleasantly decorated.
BUT, there are no curtails to keep the Sunlight from flooding the bed area and entire living area (its a very large studio apartment) By 7 am it is a bright as daylight outside!
We did not mind paying the highest price in the area to stay here, we wanted some place nice and it is charming. BUT, I do expect a real mattress. This "suite" has a ridiculous mailorder mattress (full size - not Queen) that compresses over 6 inches just when you push down with your hand. And to make it worse the mattress does not have a box spring, but rather a bunkie board. And that board is bent another 2 to 3 inches. So when you lie down, even if you only weigh 130lbs, your chest to your hips are in an 8-10 inch trench of soft mattress. Not the bed anyone would expect after hiking the local canyon trails all day and climbing 3-400 forest stairs.
Oh, they list Keurig coffee, so we did not bring our own, But they only offered 4 candy flavors without any real coffee at all.
Stayed overnight at Mill Street Suite while exploring Starved Rock and Mathiessen state parks. It was a cozy and comfortable experience in an extremely convenient location next to both state parks (just a few miles down the road) and on Mill Street next to several eating and drinking establishments. Went to Bruce and Ollieâs across the street for coffee, sandwiches, and ice cream multiple times during our stay. The suite was well appointed and updated with all the amenities anyone can need. And check in/check out was super simple. We will stay here again next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!
Place was great!! So clean!! Location was wonderful! We had a great time exploring and hiking! Everything was easy to get to and find! We loved Mill Street and the outdoor dining!
Iâve got to start by saying, the pictures donât do this place justice. It is much larger on the inside than I anticipated. The location is perfect, we got to listen to live music from right outside our windows. My daughter loved taking a bath and chilling by the fireplace. We checked out this morning, and we have already discussed trying to make this an annual trip. Really couldnât ask for more, 10 out of 10 for sure!
Nice property and convenient to Starved Rock and for visiting Utica. Very clean! It would be nice to have window treatments on the arched windows as the street lights shine all night. Also important to note that you can hear bar music and patrons late at night. Bars state they close at 9 pm, but that wasnât the case. I would recommend if youâre looking for a cozy and convenient place to stay.
Our stay at the Mill St. Suite is always a welcome respite from the road. We have stayed here multiple times and are always pleased with the cleanliness and amenities it offers. The host is friendly and quick to respond. The only hesitation in leaving a review is that weâd rather like to keep this little gem our secret!
