The mountain road is a paved road and is cleared very well but nevertheless snow chains or a 4 x 4 may be required. The next supermarket and doctor office are both located in the valley at the town centre of Uttendorf which is 17km away.The lake is a reservoir and the water is drained and dammed several times a day to produce electricity.Therefore, unfortunately, it is not allowed to swim in the lake. The water would also be much too cold for bathing, it never rises above 10 degrees.You can splash around a bit, let your feet hang in, etc. you can do it at the upper end where the stream runs into the lake.
