Staff allowed me to check in early, which was really nice. Unfortunately while the room was large and pleasant, it was one floor up from the main street and really loud. Around 10pm I went to the reception to ask to change, and was told there were no other rooms to move to. The receptionist said it would soon get quieter, but this was untrue, both because of the street and the fact he was talking and laughing loudly with a guest.
I checked and discovered it was also untrue that there was not another room to move to and went back down to remonstrate. He then changed excuse and said he would not be able to rent out my room anymore. I explained, that in fact he could as it would just mean emptying the litter bin as I hadn't use the bed.
Fortunately, a colleague agreed to switch me with the caveat that the other room was far more basic. I took it as it was quieter, but when I suggested the next day that the hotel split the difference in price, they refused.
The breakfast isn't particularly great and in an area known for producing oranges, they serve disgusting juice.
