Arrived very late 10/03/2019. The night was dark and so was the hotel.
Drove around the property to make sure we were in the right place. Right place , wrong choice.
The hotel was closed and abandoned. Shut down. Out of business. The grass had not been mowed in a few weeks.
There was no notification that the hotel had been closed down.
IT WAS CLOSED AND OUT OF BUSINESS !! NO NOTIFICATION OR ANYTHING, JUST A SIGN ON THE DOOR SAYING THAT 9/14 WAS THEIR LAST DAY IN BUSINESS. That's pretty unique, wouldn't you say. Lucky me, I prepaid !!!!
The property is CLOSED! It closed two weeks before my visit. There was a not on the door of the lobby. That was how I was informed. It was VU Homecoming and rooms were very hard to find at two hours notice. I do not know how this could happen. This is the second review I have filled out for this reservation. I hope someone is reading them!
Donât know... it was out of business and did not notify anyone. Small sign on the door that said they were closed permanently. Had to search for a room. Have to check to see if I was charged!!
When we arrived at the Quality Inn, there was a note on the door saying the hotel had closed Sep. 15. We had received no notice of this closing, which happened 5 days before we arrived, We were lucky to find a room at the Hampton Inn. I will never stay at a Quality Inn or use Travelocity again.
First night I room didn't have air conditioning or hot water. they moved it to a room and the three days I was there they never got hot water the security was terrible there was no locks on any exterior doors. The location was dirty the staff was very unfriendly. After I was there a day they told me that the location is closing down permanently on 9/15/19 so they really didn't care. I will never stay at the Quality inn again. cleaning equipment just laying around but you could tell it had not been used in a long time. The door was ajar it looked like it had been kicked in once before, the deadbolt lock would not even lock on it.
This was a very strange experience. The service was rude and slow. We arrived and attempted to check in. The person who checked us in was complaining about how long he had been working, and he took very long to find our rooms. It was a frustrating interaction. Then after checking in to our rooms, one of the rooms was as hot as a sauna, and the air conditioner did not seem to work. We asked for help or to possibly be switched, and the response was "the only thing I can do is give you a refund so that you can go to a different hotel." I explained that this would separate our families (my parents were babysitting my son so my husband and I could attend a wedding), and this would not be an ideal situation. An electrician came up later to attempt to fix the situation, but in the end could not. My parents were actually moved to a different room which was confusing because we were told this was not an option. The woman who came to discuss this further with my mother told her that this hotel was actually closing permanently on Monday 9-16. This explained a lot especially regarding the lack of cleanliness in both in and outside the rooms. I am disappointed that we had to pay full price for this. I am hoping that we can get a partial or full refund.
I killed a cockroach in the hallway! There was also a spider in our bathroom that I killed. The mattresses are extremely worn and almost collapse when sitting/laying on them. Comforters donât even match each other. The grass was overgrown all around the building and pool area. Paint is chipping off. Breakfast tasted like it was microwaved. Also noticed people letting their dog stay in their room and the halls smelled like cigarettes. The pool was also out of order during our entire stay due to maintenance. The only good thing about this stay was the closeness to the Dunes and Wal-Mart. I called around other hotels for availability because I wanted to leave so bad, but all places were booked so I was stuck in this run down hotel. I would have asked for a refund but since we had no option of leaving, we kept quiet. This place has gone way down in quality from last year. Not sure what the cause is. Will not be back!
This would be a great budget stay if the rate was budget minded. The rooms were clean. The shower and ac worked. Thereâs a microwave and fridge in the rooms! Mattress was very comfy and bathroom seemed updated. But the property is very rundown and understaffed. It smells a little musty, and thereâs weeds chest high all over the grounds. It didnât seem like there was ac in the lobby. Outside doors which should require key access do not. Theyâre just open all night. When my key quit working the clerk reset my key with only the room number. She didnât ask my name! I could have asked for access to any room! Iâd gladly pay $50 a night for an iffy free breakfast, a decent if outdated room, and a pool at this location, but the $100 a night I spent was too much.
Property was run down, badly needed paint on the outside, overgrown shrubs and lawn needed care, bedspread was soiled. The young lady at the front was helpful and allowed us to cancel.
The biggest thing was trying to sleep on a warm, muggy night with an air conditioner that had a loud buzz. Secondly, the property has seen better days, especially the landscaping.
Inn was overall poor condition! Rooms not cleaned when we checked in, smelll bad. Incomplete amenities in the room including hairdryer! Shower not draining so have to shower in a different room late at night! Breakfast was all out at 8:30 am will not return again!
What a shame that this property has gone so far downhill. Needs major upgrades. Staff was inattentive. Mold evident in rooms. Pool area showing signs of disrepair/neglect. Won't stay here again.
