Coco Flotante is a 4BR, 4BA beachfront villa with sweeping ocean views from every room. Two master suites on the main level open to a lush garden, outdoor dining area, and infinity pool. Upstairs includes a queen bedroom and a twin room sharing a full bath. Playa Blanca is steps away, Playa Junquillal just minutes. Perfect for groups of 8–12, with on-site caretakers, private access to two beaches, and stunning sunsets from the open-air bar and lounge.

We offer full guest privacy, but are always nearby and available by phone or message if you need anything during your stay. We're happy to offer local tips and recommendations if desired.

Located in quiet and authentic Playa Junquillal, just over an hour from Liberia Airport and 45 minutes from Tamarindo. You’ll have direct access to Playa Blanca and Playa Junquillal, world-class surf at Playa Negra, and the Turtle Sanctuary nearby. Explore local dining, hiking, national parks, snorkeling, and surf schools. No crowds—just nature, beaches, and pura vida at its best.

Coco Flotante sleeps 8–10 comfortably, 12 if there are kids in the group. The first floor includes two king master suites with en suite bathrooms, open-plan kitchen, living area, laundry, and access to the garden patio. Upstairs has a queen bedroom with ocean views, a twin bedroom, and a shared double-vanity bathroom. Enjoy the infinity pool, rancho, outdoor dining, hammocks, and shaded seating. All just steps from the sand and surf.



Our on-site caretakers, Gama and Irene (Spanish-speaking only), take care of the property and provide daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure you have a seamless stay.

This house has an amazing view and access to the beach. The house is large and has four bedrooms and will support large groups. There is plenty of room to spread out and have privacy and yet enjoy the company of the others on your trip. The caretakers do a great job and the house is very clean.

Incredible house and location

Coco Flotante is an iconic and idyllic beach house that made touchstone memories for my family of 5. The house itself is very large and has great indoor and outdoor spaces to spend time as a group or alone. Big, covered patios with dining and lounging areas, all with views, a huge kitchen and bedroom suites all with AC.The house caretakers and manager are friendly if you want to engage or have a request, and otherwise just make sure everything is good. During our stay, they cleaned the house and pool daily and helped with our needs and questions. Georgina helped us get to a turtle release at the beach that was unforgettable.The views from the house and property are incredible, across the Pacific, up the coast, and with no other people or houses in sight. Coconut trees, lawn, flowers, and the pool are beautiful. The beach is down a staircase, accessible and providing privacy.The beach itself has both sand and tide pools. We were able to walk down the beach to the end of Junquillal and back, a little under 3.5 miles (5.5 km). The closest store was fine for our needs, but lacking in much fresh produce. Plenty of other options within a short drive and also restaurants you can walk or drive to.Wildlife was a nice surprise for us. We saw iguanas, colorful birds, hermit crabs rolling in their shells down toward the beach, and Howler monkeys (Congos) walking through the trees in the evening.

Wonderful spring break trip: April 2025

We loved everything about our stay at Coco Flotante. You want beach front? This is the place!You want a pool? This is the place?You want quiet but close to restaurants and activities? This is the place!There were 8 of us total, 4 adults and 4 kids (2 families toga travel together). Kids aged 8, 10, 11, and 12. Two master suites downstairs (both sets of parents stayed), one bedroom with a queen, and one bedroom with 2 twins (all 4 kids stayed upstairs). Another sitting area and bar upstairs as well.Outdoor seating area and the pool were our favorites. Large kitchen with everything you need to cook. We cooked most meals. We did eat out a few times. The property caretakers (house next door) were so nice. Never intrusive. We had a flat tire one day on our rental van, and they assisted us with finding the number to call to have someone come fix it. There dog came to visit us daily when we were outside, but never pestered us, and was super friendly. Only things to caution if traveling with older folks or young children, there are steep outside stairs to the upstairs of the house. And, there are steep stairs to the beach. Neither of those bothered us at all!As others have said, the pictures of this property online don’t do this place justice. It’s amazing! If you’re on the fence- make the choice to rent this place- you won’t regret it!

Stunning location

What a special location! The property sits at the edge of a small cliff with a short set of stairs leading right to the beach. The view is pure idyllic Pacific surf, some of the best sunsets ever!

Pictures don’t do justice

Its a beautiful place right on the water. Kitchen was fully stocked and the rooms were great. The caretaker and his wife were extremely helpful and wonderful. The house dog Duque came on walks with us to the beach and we really enjoyed having him around. So well behaved and sweet. We will come back!

Family holiday to celebrate my big birthday!

10 of us had two magical weeks at Coco Flatante. The weather was consistently beautiful and hot. There was so much to do. We swam in the infinity pool. We explored the tide pools and swam in the sea. We jogged in the morning before it got too hot. We did some excursions to the Diamante echo jungle, snorkling out of Playa Flamingo, boat tour up the estuary in Tamarindo, snorkling on our beach, playing pickleball about 1/3 of a kilometer from Coco (beside Iguana Villas) in the early mornings, ate out some lunches but generally cooked dinners in and constantly enjoyed the sound of the surf and the views. So many animals to see; howler monkeys, beautiful birds including hummingbirds, lots of creepy crawlies and shells to collect to keep the kids enthralled. Gamma and Irina were so wonderful; they kept us cleaned and orderly. Georgina was very responsive if anything needed fixing, high chair and pack n' play were perfect and getting us groceries for our arrival. It was one of the best holidays ever and we want to come back again!!

Outstanding - already rebooked!

We had an absolutely fabulous vacation at this private, quiet, secluded home in Junquillal. The property was immaculately clean and well stocked. The caretakers were helpful and accessible, but we almost never saw them. Their dog is absolutely fabulous and well behaved and I miss him already!The view is unbeatable. The beachwas so much fun
 Tide pools and shells and. Stunning views. The stairs are steep, but were not an issue for us. We can't wait to go back!

Heaven on earth!

What a beautiful property. After finding it in the dark we were so pleasantly surprise.We were a group of 7 56 year old grade school friends that stayed a week in this lavish casa. The layout with two levels and 4 rooms was perfect. So many places to sit and watch the waves and sunsets. Huge kitchen to cook in with 2 refrigerators and freezer with the ice maker came in handy. Gama greeted us as we arrived and helped us unload our bags. Waking up each morning with the howler monkeys in the trees behind the house barking orders at each other was so cool. The frogs and the geckos chirping at each other was a true example of what it would be like staying in Costa Rica. Irene came in everyday and cleaned the house. She was amazing and very sweet. We spent two days hanging around the house enjoying a message by a masseuse in the upstairs sitting area overlooking the ocean. Awesome in so many ways. While we waited our turn we swam in the beautiful pool and drank a cocktail. The rooms were kept cold and the outside patio was great for doing some office work. The Wi-Fi was used though out the house. Time slowed down at Coco Flotante and was a perfect vacation spot for 7 business women to unwind, reflect and catch up. The stairs leading to the beach was decent until the last 5 feet which was a climb but we are already planning our trip back to Coco Flotante. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We are already looking at booking our trip back there. Gracias!

Private and discreet, with conscientious caretaker and housekeeper. Best enjoyed by those under 75 years of age. Teens and kids loved it. Very close to good beaches and restaurants.

Summer in Costa Rica

We were absolutely blown away by our stay here. The views were stunning, and we loved the fun and adventurous walks on the beach. When our daughter stepped on a sea urchin one day, the housekeeper was incredibly helpful as we tried to remove the spines from her foot. She provided a first-aid kit, vinegar, and other medical supplies. Despite the language barrier, she was exceptionally kind and supportive.

Best Stay Ever!

Our family truly enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back again. The house was beautifully decorated and gave our family of five the space we all needed. Gama and Irene, the caretakers, were so very friendly and took care of our every need, while giving us the privacy we needed. And we all feel in love with Duque, the family dog - he joined us on the beach everyday. 😁 The beach was awesome and not crowded and the sunsets were incredible. Book it!

Perfect getaway for your family

Plenty of room to lounge, relax, and spread out. The pool was the perfect temperature, and very clean. We enjoyed the large kitchen and fridge space as well. Just steps to the beach, truly an oasis.

Lovely home

Our extended family stayed at this beautiful home for 2 weeks. It had everything we needed. As others have remarked, the pictures do not do it justice. Maria came every morning and was so kind and efficient. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own beach chairs if you are planning frequent beach excursions. We hope to return!

Beautiful Private Getaway

The setting was wonderful, the views were amazing, the house was very private and accommodating for all our needs. The pictures cannot even show how beautiful and authentic this place is with its spanish tiles, private beach setting, areas to relax. This home was great for couples to share or a big family.

A beautiful house and setting!

Coco Flotante is an incredible property where our family of 8, 7 adults & one child ten years old, had a fabulous week. Some enjoyed a fishing charter and surfing, and we all participated in a fun Monkey and Crocodile riverboat adventure with Xplore Costa Rica. Everyone loved the house and the pool where we spent many hours so much that we really didn’t ever need to leave the property. The caretakers next door were wonderful and graciously took care of our every need. Also, the rental manager was very helpful and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe Coco Flotante, and we are already planning our next visit there. It is truly Pura Vida!

Sunsets and surf

The property is set on bluffs above the Pacific affording wonderful sunsets with the constant sound of waves crashing. The house is nice and big, with lots of spots to relax. The air-conditioning in the bedrooms was welcomed. Just a great experience! Everything we expected.

Beautiful views, restful stay

Coco Flotante is absolutely beautiful, the pictures hardly do it justice. We spent two weeks, the first with our grandniece and nephew (9 and 11) and the second with our adult children and friends. The host (Georgina) and the caretakers (Gama and Maria) we all excellent and very helpful. Everything you need is there. The pool is just the right size for adults to hang out or kids to play Marco Polo. It worked well to have a separate floor (we put the younger people up there, the stairs are steep). Well-stocked kitchen, nice seating areas. Be prepared for mosquitos. They appear at dawn and dusk. Once we put mosquito repellant on we were fine. Walks along the beach were excellent. Some of our party did the horseback riding at sunset and had a wonderful time. Highly recommended: Lola's at Playa Avellanas. We spent a day there surfing (or for some of us watching surfing) excellent meals and great umbrella set up ($10/day per chair). Rip tides are no joke, but if you are cautious, body surfing at Junquillal beach was a favorite. TPV's river tour. Loads of monkeys, birds and crocodiles. Nearby dining: Guacamaya Lodge, Tides, and Lochitos. Villa Deevena is pricey but excellent AND, for the wine snobs out there, they have an excellent wine shop and this is the best place to buy wine in the area. We had great time snorkeling with Pargos. He's very knowledgeable and safety conscious. A big THANK YOU to Georgina, Gama, and Maria for making our stay so wonderful.

Breath-taking

This was our first trip to Costa Rica . Renting a car was the best for this location! The house was a perfect set-up for families and groups travelling together. The rooms arranged so you have privacy. The upstairs was perfect for a family -with children. Two bedrooms — one large bathroom .

Million Dollar View

The pictures don’t do the view justice. We had a huge group down for a wedding and rented multiple house, this house crushed. It also had stairs right down to the beach, which is very secluded, very spacious with tons of different seating areas inside and outside of the house.
