I should've been did this review in Sept 2021 when went for our honeymoon Rm 262. I seem to can't get this place out of my head and want to go back. Hands down from beginning to end, the staff met every need and made sure we were good. They were excellent! Very welcoming and friendly. The food was really good and our over water villa was beautiful. I heard they are doing some renovations. When it's complete we will definitely revisit.

I do not usually write reviews however Veligandu is an absolute gem! The island is breathtaking, the staff and service feels so personalised, the food is amazing and the weather unbelievable! My girlfriend and I are talking about our stay everyday since we got back. The island has everything to offer, we had quite relaxed days on the beach, incredible snorkelling with turtles and reef sharks to great party nights at the hotels bar. We cannot wait to go back next year although we will have to wait until after the renovations.

The location was lovely , beaches and Island verdure were also fabulous . We stayed in a water bungalow which was clean and spacious on the west ,sea ward , side of the Island. It benefitted from the sea breeze and sunsets . The food was excellent , buffet style , of a good quality and varied . Staff were obliging , obviously trained to be so . The sea plane transfer is an added cost (£650) and we had to wait 90 min for arriving passengers from other destinations to fill it before it would leave . This was irritating after travelling for 16 hours . The resort is dated and tired and does need an upgrade which is apparently happening shortly.

Truly a paradise. My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and it was perfect. Staff as amazing, plenty to do, and very relaxing. Highly recommend!

I love this resort. Worth the 18 hr flight from Toronto. Seaplane transfer was hassle-free. I booked an over the water villa (with a hot tub with a view of the ocean), full board (3 meals at buffet), no alcohol or drinks (except for coffee and whatever juice they have at the time). Each mango juice costed me $4 US a pop. Items in mini bar not included. Items, like souvenirs, you buy get charged to the room. I loved the over the water villa. So private and there were stairs out to the water (low tide in the am, high in the pm). There were crabs all the time on the deck (one and a couple on the steps). They try to avoid you. Transformer was provided, AC, TV. Far walk but it's what you get if you want seclusion. Island is so small though (love it). Food at Dhonveli and wi-fi were great. I really only need those two things to be happy. I didn't see too much seafood, but I don't like those anyway. From your deck, you can snorkel and see plenty of different varities of fish. Saw a shark and a couple of sting rays from my deck. Staff is warm and helpful. I travelled on my own and felt really safe. I could leave my phone/wallet at my table with no concerns at Dhonveli. Resort-specific stuff: Bring your own plastic bag for wet clothes. Resort tries to be environmentally conscious so no plastic bags available. Don't bring shoes you don't want to get sand in. I had a really special experience and plan on going back next year but maybe in April instead of May.
