Perched at an altitude of 1,750 metres, like a mountain refuge, the Chalet de Mapellet immerses you among ridges and alpine pastures, in the heart of a protected natural area. This rare setting, with its breathtaking views, offers peace, a chance to unwind, beauty, and freedom. In this secluded setting, you can enjoy the silence of the surroundings and the splendour of the mountains. Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will find it an ideal playground. The “La Bourgeoise” viewpoint, located 350 metres above the chalet, offers an exceptional view of Mont Blanc.

Formerly a summer camp and now fully renovated, the chalet is a luxurious 160 m² retreat. Authentic materials—stone and reclaimed wood—have restored its simple charm and warm character. Self-sufficient in electricity and supplied with water from a spring, the chalet embodies a life of simplicity and offers the chance to live in the heart of nature, in harmony with the elements.
Located near the legendary Col de Joux Plane (a stage of the Tour de France), the chalet is accessible via a vehicle-accessible trail—by car in the summer (5 min) and on snowshoes in the winter (15 min).
The complete self-sufficiency and unique location of this one-of-a-kind alpine chalet will make you feel as though you’ve stepped away from the world.


#1. THE CHALET

The first floor is one huge living space: an open kitchen, a dining room with a large, inviting solid-wood table, and a spacious living room centred around a massive fireplace.

A beautiful wooden staircase leads upstairs to a master bedroom, a 7-person dormitory (configured with 7 single beds or 2 double beds and 5 single beds), and a bathroom with a shower, carved out of the rock.

Outside, you can enjoy the view from the lounge chairs and dine in the sun or in the shade of the awning.

# 2. AROUND THE CHALET

Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails starting from the chalet
Col de Joux Plane (ideal for road biking in the summer, with two climbs from Samoëns and Morzine, and cross-country skiing in the winter)

# 4. ACCESS

The chalet is accessible from the Joux Plane road via a hiking trail approximately one kilometre long.

## BY CAR
The road is passable by car in summer. We recommend arriving in a slightly higher-clearance vehicle or an SUV. It’s also possible to arrange a shuttle from the parking lot to take you and your luggage to the chalet, and the same applies for your departure at the end of your stay.


## ON FOOT
It takes about 15 minutes to walk there (on snowshoes in winter).
