Harbourfront Boathouse Vestmanna Bird Cliffs

A harbourfront boathouse in the red house on Vestmanna Harbour, looking straight out over the moored fishing boats, the waterfall, and the green slopes above the village. Vestmanna is the departure point for the famous boat tours to Vestmannabjørgini — the towering bird cliffs on the west coast of Streymoy — and the boats leave just a short walk from the door. The village has a shop, a café, and a swimming pool, and the location makes it an easy base for the whole of Streymoy and Vágar. Tórshavn and the airport are both around half an hour away by car.



The Space:

The apartment sits directly on the harbour in the red boathouse at Niðari Vegur 36. The living area is open plan, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table seating 6-8, and a comfortable seating area with TV. Windows and balcony face the water, so you look out over the boats and the harbour from inside. There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed. The bathroom has a shower, and there is a washing machine available. Bed linen and towels are provided, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking full meals during your stay.



Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the entire apartment, including both bedrooms, the bathroom, the kitchen and living area, and the entrance hall. Parking is available directly outside. The washing machine is available for guest use.



The Neighborhood:

The apartment is in the heart of Vestmanna, right on the harbour. The village is small and easy to walk, with a shop for daily essentials, a café, a church, and a swimming pool all close by. The bird cliff boat tours depart from the harbour a few minutes' walk away — these are among the most popular excursions in the Faroe Islands, taking you along sheer sea cliffs, through narrow sounds, and into sea caves, with thousands of nesting seabirds overhead in summer. Walking routes lead up into the hills behind the village, and the old village path over to Saksun starts nearby for those wanting a longer hike.



Getting Around:

Vestmanna is compact, so everything in the village is reachable on foot.

Shop and café: within walking distance

Vágar Airport: approx. 30 minutes by car via the Vágatunnilin

Tórshavn: approx. 30 minutes by car

Saksun: approx. 40 minutes by car

Gjógv and the northern islands: approx. 1 hour



Buses connect Vestmanna to Tórshavn and Vágar, and the bus stop is in the village. If you are travelling by car, parking is available at the property.



Other Things to Note:

Check-in is from 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Please respect the house rules and take out trash before departure.
