Other things to note:
Volcano is a truly special place in Hawaii. There are a few things that may be a surprise while visiting here vs the other islands:
• We are located at 3,750 feet above sea level. Our nights are chilly and during the winter can drop to the mid 50's
• Coquí frogs are an invasive species about the size of your thumbnail. They "sing" during the night, and are either wonderful to listen to or a nuisance.
• There are two stores and gas stations located in Volcano village. They both close at 7pm.
• All water in this area is collected naturally in large catchment tanks. On our property it is filtered, UV treated, and then filtered again under the kitchen sink.
